Hi,
I just want to posy a quick message on how my pump installation went.

Got to the hospital around 7AM on Thursday and was in the OR by 9:30 and into my room by 1:00. The report from the surgeon was that everything went as expected. After an overnight in the hospital, I was released Friday afternoon.

So far the worst pain was when the docs rebandaged my junk with gauge and an elastic bandage the evening after the surgery. There is some significant swelling and bruising involved, but even now, on Saturday afternoon, the swelling is reduced some. The pain protocol being used now is gabapentin (a nerve block), meloxicam (an anti inflammator) and acetaminophen. I have been putting a cold pack on things since yesterday and will continue with that through Sunday. At this point I would have to say that the pain is less than expected. I’m glad that I haven’t had to take any opiates so far. I get to see how things work in four weeks or so.

Was it penile implant or AUS urinary sphincter?

It was a penile implant done by Dr. James Sinham at Albert Einstein Hospital in East Norriton, PA. The hospital and staff are phenomenal. Dr. Sinham specializes in implant and reconstructive surgery and does a lot of these.

Thanks! I hope you love it! I still debate about getting one of these. I seemed to be thinking I wws certainly going to do it a few months ago, but now I am back to not quite so sure. It is a lot to go through, so I better have some good reasons/rewards for doing so.

I also got my implant recently on 9/5 approximately a week before you.
I was implanted by Dr. Khera Baylor urologist in Houston, Texas.
I was implanted with Titan OTR 18+1RTE and it was done by Pero-scrotal approach.
I also had ventral phaloplasty to correct my angle at same surgery. I stayed overnight in the hospital.
Recovery was not bad at all, very little pain and some discomfort mostly because of scrotal swelling. I really iced it religiously for the first 5 days when swelling started going down slowly.
Honestly, I expected it to be way worse then it really was.
I was left partially inflated 70% per my surgeon. Tomorrow, I will se him and he is going to deflate me.
Could you please share some details about your implant and recovery. It would be good to compare our recoveries and our outcome.

My decision to get it done was based upon a few things. One, I can’t take the little blue pill. I have an eye condition that it would really mess with. Two, I tried just about everything else with limited success. The intra urethra swab just caused pain but no swelling. Injections caused swelling and pain and the vacuum pump was painful. So, this is the path I choose.

I have very few details on which device my surgeon used and the method of implantation. I would assume that the peri scrotal method was used as the incision is along the right side of my scrotum.
