UK health care system question

I had a great facebook messenger call with a chap living in Thailand last night. His PC is very similar to mine and he was interested in knowing more about HDR-BT. During our discussion, he told me that he went back to England for a second consult and they "took all the options except surgery off the table". Initially, they told him he was a candidate for either RT, HT, or Surgery. The way he described it is this is the way the system works, he has to go with what they recommend. He did not have his pathology report just that he was low diagnosed 1C. A bit of 3+4.

I suggested he need to fight for a second opinion and to see an RO to get more info. Any folks familiar with the UK health system have any suggestions? I invited him to join this forum.

Yup - that's the that systems works. You take what you're give and don't get many choices. Also it could be a long wait for surgery.

Recently my sister-in-law in the UK had a doctor she really liked at a local surgery. She moved to a new home a mile away and got a letter from the surgery informing her that she was out of their service area now and needed to get a new doctor at a different surgery.

That wasn't my experience with the NHS.
I was offered both surgery and seeds, it was my choice.

I shared info with my buddy. He is headed back to England today to try to negotiate. He is in contact with Bumrangrad Hospital. Makes me grateful for Medicare and Tricare.
