Good that you thought of this in advance. Flomax
is an alpha-blocker, so it relaxes muscles
throughout the body...and as you already seem to be aware, alpha-blockers are common BP-lowering meds.
The good news is that most men's body adjust so that the dizzyness symptom only occurs when you first start taking it (or when you start taking it again). Just be careful at first and adjust your exercise accordingly. If it is a problem after a month or so, discuss with your physician. Which dose are you starting out at?
I also take an alpha-blocker (for BP), and I told my internist that I sometimes get a bit lightheaded when doing really heavy exercising (long bike rides, or exercising on extra hot day). His suggestion was (if I can plan ahead) to cut my tablet in half those days. [My alpha-blocker is in tablet, not capsule, form.]
