Rising PSaA after 8 years

After Eight years of reading of 0.01, went yesterday and it had jumped to 2.04 any Ideas on why such a sudden jump, an how concerned shoulg I be made an appointment with Urologist but naturally hes 3 weeks out, any suggestions. Had a total prostate removal in August of 2010.

Thanks Andrew, after this many years it comes as a shock, have an appointment with the Uro on 11/14, thought I had put this behind me.

Re-test and assess. Hopefully it is a testing error, but could be that something is growing. If so, then some of the scans may be able to identify where so that targeted treatment can be used. Otherwise, systemic treatment may be the next step. Too early to know. I would also be investigating your geographic area for a good radiation oncologist and medical oncologist just in case it is a recurrence. If surgery has failed, the urologist is often in the background to the other specialists.

That makes this year's reading an extreme anomaly. Your first post asked "how concerned should I be?" This year's result seems so unlikely to be correct, I'd say not to be concerned, but to make sure that your discussion on 11/14 includes another test result. Personally, what I would do in your situation, is to call the doctor's office to request that they order a re-test before 11/14 so that the results can be discussed at your appointment. (I do this every year for my physical...call to make sure there is a doctor's "order" in place, go in and have the blood draw the week before, then we can review & discuss face-to-face...very effective.)
