I contracted hepatitis C when I was a teenager and over the years I experienced many relapses while I was still using drugs and drinking. I got clean at 35 and for a number of years cycled 5k miles a year and also hiked a lot and hit the weights regularly. after cancer treatment I was preparing to be treated with interferon for hep c.
before starting treatment the doctor did a viral load which came back clear. I had mixed feelings. I was angry with him but glad I cleared the virus. I had another liver biopsy and it showed no scar tissue on my liver!
I've always thought it was the exercise that did it but i'm sure quitting drugs may have also had something to do with it.
"before starting treatment the doctor did a viral load which came back clear. I had mixed feelings. I was angry with him but glad I cleared the virus."............. Why were you angry with him when your viral load came back clear? I must be missing something, a detail.
