It's been 1 yr. since HDR BT with subsequent PSA readings: pre treatment 5.1, 12/19/17(2.0NG/mL), 3/30/18 (1.7NG/mL), 5/31/18 (1.4NG/mL), 8/3/18 (1.8NG/mL). Is this recent increase in PSA something to worry about?
My next scheduled PSA reading is in December. I pee like every 1hr. On the average, I wake up at night to pee 5 times even after my Uro increased my Tamsulosin from 0.4 to 0.8mg. As usual, I welcome and appreciate any ideas.

It looks to me like you're having a PSA bounce, which is pretty common after radiation. In fact, I recall a very knowledgable guy here saying that the bounces are associated with better long-term results. Let us know how the December PSA goes.

As for your urinary urgency, that's much more pronounced that anything I've ever had. I have no advice there other than to ask your uro. Getting up five times a night to pee is not conducive to a healthy lifestyle from a sleep perspective. I hope you can get some relief there.

PSA post RT can be bouncy and since you still have a prostate, there is normal variation with that. Hopefully the next test will be lower.

Take to the URO again. That's not a normal recovery pattern. I had urgency and during the day was going every 90 minutes, but didn't wake up at night.

Also had HDR Brachy and had a bounce in the first year. It's pretty common, which I knew from my research at this site. I was less concerned than my urologist and pcp, and after that bounce the PSA continued declining. Then had a slight bounce at 3 yrs, and 6 months later it dropped by about 50%. Would show the new levels in my signature but for some reason I can't click on My Profile.
