Hi, just got back my latest PSA Results. It has been 2 years since my surgery, and since then my results have always been >0.08 >3.5, my last result was 0.010 > 3.5.

I assume this is normal? I'm grateful for any feedback.

That looks a bit like a range of values rather than a result.

The "3.5" might be an upper limit for your age with prostate intact - (any value higher warranting monitoring or further investigation)

Maybe check the direction of those carrots - the ">" is what is printed - it isn't "<"?

I'm confused by the numbers you've posted. That looks like a range report.

did you go from .08 to .01 or .01 to .08? or <.08 to <.01 ?
> is greater than
< is less than.

Sorry for any confusion. All I know is these are my results from my latest blood test. It says exactly.

Prostate Specific Ag 0.010 <3.5 ugL


my previous result was 0.008 under Flag and all of them before that for two years were < 0.008. No longer less than on the flag result. Although perhaps 0.010 is fine?

My interpretation is that your latest PSA was 0.01 ug/L. This isn't significantly different from the 0.008 result of the previous test.
I guess that the confusion is from the formatting of the results on the report. The range is stated as less than 3.5 ug/L. This is nonsensical for those who have had their prostate removed, but the technician doing the test didn't know that (or couldn't override the 'normal' range result).

That is a great number. The .002 difference is not meaningful at this level. Just noise from the test.

For all practical purposes, it's a zero.

I've recently been diagnosed with PC (PSA 3.8, Gleason 4+3).

I'm looking for active threads to find advice about surgery versus brachytherapy with general beam radiation.
