I see that generic cialis (tadalafil) is now available. I was hoping it would be much cheaper since my insurance doesn't cover it (only generic viagra). It is cheaper, but far from cheap.

10 x 10 mg tablets is $221, vs $618 for the brand name.

Maybe I can go for this approach to save some money: Take generic viagra during the week for maintenance, and tadalafil on weekends, for <fun>?

Any of you guys trying this approach?

I pay less than a buck a pill for generic Cialis. many of us do.

You might want to do a little drug shopping. Maybe you getting cheeper buying direct from a pharmacy without using your insurance.

I only use the generic viagra for everything my medical plan sends me 20mg tablets so it's easy to adjust the does depending on what I'm thinking of getting up to.

Try one of many Canadian pharmacies......I pay a little over a $1/pill for generic Cialis 5 mg. Not thru insurance.

Try GoodRx. It shows you where you can get a prescription filled locally, without insurance. The cost can be low for some prescriptions. It's free to use.

Post Edit - GoodRx is not a good deal for this drug, at least local to me. Same price as you quoted. But it has worked for me well in the past with a couple of drugs.

Nope. I take 10mg tadalafil every other day (equivalent of the daily 5mg dose) which I acquire online from an offshore pharmacy for about $0.25/day. I placed my first order with this source nearly 10 years ago following surgical PC treatment, and have (if I recall correctly) placed 5 follow-up orders in the years since then. I'm pleased with the ease of ordering & prompt delivery right to my mailbox, the quality & effectiveness of the product, and what I feel is a very favorable cost/benefit ratio.

Cost, quality and delivery--the three key metrics--are all excellent. Very satisfied customer.

With GoodRX I got 5 20mg Cialis for $88 at a local pharmacy. Without GoodRX it would have been $300. This is just to figure out if it works for me. If it does, my uro says I can get it from a compounding pharmacy for about $1-2 per pill.

Americans are the ONLY people who pay outrageous prices for drugs..The other 7.5 Billion people on our planet have access to the same drugs but at MUCH lower cost...A few of these specialized drugs ARE difficult to make and DO cost more than the easy to produce medicines but they sure don't cost as much as they do in the U.S. In The States, the way our drugs are developed, manufactured, distributed and priced, it's all focused on everyone in the food chain making as much money as possible. If this results in economic hardship for patients who NEED these drugs, that's just too bad. The stockholders come first..When you are bankrupt or near bankrupt, call us and maybe we can help...

Fairwind, I sympathise with what you say about the high cost of a lot of drugs in the US. We're very lucky in Oz. A lot of these life saving meds are heavily subsidised by the govt so very affordable. Funnily enough, viagra and cialis aren't but most other meds mentioned in these threads seem to be.

GoodRx was the first place I looked, and as you found, wasn't that great a deal. However, it might be the best domestic deal I can find. Even their prices can only be had by printing out their coupon and taking it to the pharmacy. Have you done this? Can you use coupons more than once?

I used GoodRx for sildenafil. When I wanted a refill I used the site again, and got the current "best" deal. I printed a coupon for that deal, took it to the pharmacy refilling the prescription, and they honored the coupon.

Busted1, I guess that means that you take tablets other than the weird oval shape that is Cialis? I've used a compounding pharmacy before, when I lived in a different city. I don't know why it would be cheaper, but I guess I can ask around.
