End of 2018 Update

sorry for another long gap in updates, been rough for me most of this year

in October, was my 10th year with HW PC here. in November, was my 10th year post PC surgery, 9th year post salvage radiation, and 8th year post Urostomy surgery. still here.
saw my oncologist for 2nd visit of the year in october, PSA on the move again. 2 previous 6 month readings were at 23.xx, latest was 30.xx. considering i have have no other treatment since 2009, doctor thinks we will continue to watch and wait. he agrees i should be lighting up with scans, but still nothing showing up. feels its an unsual case, but said every case different.

my parkinson's is still the worse problem with me. another mostly "invisible" disease. lot more to PD than the obvious tremors. still stage III approaching stage IV. now having swallowing issues too, VA setting me for some help with that. balance issue major, have had several hard fall recently, yes, i am either with a cane or with a walker. never know which way i am going to fall down. some days, its like the entire world is tilted to the left by a few inches, weird.

hope everyone is having a good christmas or holiday if you prefer. i lurk here a few times a week, but seldom post, even this took a lot out of me.

David, I know it’s been a tough 10 years for you and I think of you often. Sorry for the Parkinson’s issues but glad you are hanging in there. Stop in whenever you can; you still have a lot of friends here that like to hear from you.

I think of you often always wishing the best. It is the nature of things that we all suffer.........some more than others.
You are truly an inspiration and have been important to me over the last year and a half.

In my belief system it is how we deal with the hand that is dealt to us that is important, not the hand but the dealing with it.

I always like hearing your updates over the years, wish there was something more they could help you with... my wife has developed a movement disorder similar to Parkinson’s disease (dystonia), plus I believe she has early dementia, she can no longer drive a car, uses a rolling walker in the afternoons. I guess we all just keep going the best we can...

David, as always it's good to hear from you, even if it isn't good news. When visiting this board, I always check to see if you have posted anything first. I hope and pray 2019 gives you something to celebrate as you certainly deserve it.

Thanks for the updates and for all of your many posts ..about everything. You are a record breaking, record shattering inspirational example of fighting on, despite the attacks from every angle. Here is to repeat the well wishes of all the above thoughts that 81 GyGuy listed, hoping 2018 will be a healing well year, ...oh and one more..keep the Faith!

Hi David, old friend, good to hear from you, I don't come hear often, but decided to have a look as I am going back on the Androcur and Zoladex again due to my PSA rising to 9.36, it's been nearly 11 years since this all happened, and I am glad top have reached 78 years.
I do hope you have some relief from your problems, I know you will keep fighting on.

Pure Luxury those continentals...Years ago went on a 5 week train ttip cross country with our 3 sons...rented a white continental in DC and cruised all over from R.I. Good to hear the update, even if the news isn't better. I remember your long battle with the VA about your benefits when I first arrived here and a few online exchanges we had about the reports we coastal surveillance types would get from you VP sailor in the sky types. Enjoy your new Lincoln. You've earned it.
