I want to encourage all that have a more advanced diagnosis.
As you can see by my heading & profile below, my diagnosis was aggressive PC.

Five years ago today I got "The Call", then surgery, PSA return, ADT and SRT.
I'm very thankful to say that my recent PSA test came back <0.1 and has been since end of treatments!
Surgery 5 years ago next month, SRT was four years ago this past fall, last monthly ADT shot three years ago next month.

Keep looking forward, stay on top of current research, and live life out!
My wife and I are blessed by the Joy of Ordinary Days!

Good to hear of your success. My husband shares the same diagnosis. PSA at 3 months after surgery was holding steady at 0.06. Decipher was high risk (although not surprised as his path was G9 4+5). Started Casodex 3 weeks ago following negative Axumin PET scan. PSA last week <0.04. First Eligard injection last week. Will be starting radiation in the near future as well. Pray that we will have similar result as yours. Wishing you ongoing good news!

Micah, it’s always gratifying to read a story such as yours. I’m sure you know this, but just in case, please know it is uplifting for others living with uncertainty to read a post like yours.

I'm approaching five years since my 1st biopsy.

PSA later this week. Just a little bit nervous.

Hi Micah - congrats on your great news! Similar situation here, but now 9 years post RP, 8 years post RT & HT. Hubby still gets anxious when he has his PSA test every 6 months, but so far, so good!

Great news, Mike! I am also approaching 5 years in the journey, am a t3B, but have recent met's to lymph nodes and a slow rise in Doubling time and PSA. On the good side for me are low PSA and no ADT yet. Next PSA check tomorrow. I am happy for you and your wife!

And I like your focus on enjoying the ordinary days--hard to do sometimes, but I try always to get back to that frame of mind.

Congratulations Micah and thank you for the encouragement. I am a PT3A, G9 and I completed SRT at the end of October. I had my last (I hope) 3 month Lupron shot and now I wait until May for my psa test.

That's great news Micah!

I'm in exactly the same boat. I had my second to last Lupron shot last week - last one scheduled for April. Then I wait.
Your experience is very encouraging for me - and I'm very happy for you!

Thank you all for the responses and kind words!
Those of you (or your husband) that are still doing/about to start ADT/SRT, I'll be thinking of you.
And, the ones who mentioned PSA anxiety, we ALL sure Understand. Guess, when we have to do a test for cancer every 3/6/12 months...it's just going to be an anxious time, no way around it, huh.
I'm very thankful that I get to move to 6 months now on PSA tests!

We can all learn from your experience and your positive attitude towards this disease. Hope your next 5 years brings a good out come in your life.

I am T3a N1 which is unfavourable intermediate risk. My RO and URO said that because of my relatively low PSA before surgery 4/13, (7.2), only 2 of 8 cores + in a 13cc prostate,(pretty small), more 3+4 than 4+3, only 1 LN+(2mm lesion), over the last 5 + years of AS having a lower PSA (1.17) ,6/18, than after surgery(2.8), my situation was a little different from the usual T3a N1.

I feel confident that with 5 years gone with little disruption to my life, bring on the next 20.

I know a man whose results are similar to yours and his post op psa was 1.2. One node positive for him, cannot recall other pathology findings. He about shat his pants at the first psa but ADT+RT did the trick.
