Burning sensation after TURP

Had my TURP last Thursday- 2 nights in the hospital but once catheter came out I started to P and as of today no more clots and my urine is clear. But I started to get a burning sensation last nite while P ing and still today. Can I assume it is normal and at some point soon it will dissipate ?
I am taking an antibiotic until this Thursday. I am sure you guys have gone through this. Just like to ensure it nothing too serious. Thanks all.

I spent one night in the hospital after my TURP, and had very mild burning sensations while urinating for a few days. Give it a few days, and be careful with sledgehammer antibiotic Cipro, if that's what you're on. Good luck.

drink plenty of water and call your URO if it's not better soon. Cipro should take care of that, but it's better to call than get into a bigger problem.

and yeah, likely it will just go away on its own.

Thanks for the information. I am taking Sulfameth/Trimeth DS for a week after the surgery. I did read that everyone’s different and it could go away or hang around for a bit. Hopefully it will dissipate soon.

That's a good drug to be taking. Burning is often associated with infection so that should knock it out.

If it's not better tomorrow, I'd put in a call to the doc just in case (may you need two weeks of it or a different drug or you're just having a bad day).

I had my TURP about 3.5 yrs ago and it was one of the best things I've ever had done. I didn't have any burning and have been able to urinate normally ever since. My TURP story is in a comment on this post -- https://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=35&m=3509074
