Still, I strongly recommend that you get a second opinion on the biopsy slides from Dr Epstein's lab at Johns Hopkins. All they do is read prostate cancer slides (the UCLA pathologists have to read all sorts of tissue samples) and it's very easy to arrange a second opinion with them.
I just looked the pathologist. She seems pretty legit... She even did her fellowship at John Hopkins... I wonder if I need a second opinion?
Dr. Huihui Ye is a urological pathologist who serves as the Chief of Genitourinary Pathology at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). She is Clinical Associate Professor at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
Dr. Ye received her medical degree from the Zhejiang University School of Medicine in China. She completed her residency in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology at New York University Medical Center in 2009, and her fellowship in Urological Pathology at Johns Hopkins University in 2010.
Before coming to UCLA Health, Dr. Ye practiced Anatomic Pathology and served as Director of Genitourinary Pathology in the Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Ye's research focuses on the interplay of genetics and tumor microenvironment of genitourinary cancer including prostate cancer and renal cell carcinoma.
