And re .Leah...and Halbert....I will double down on my view re human nature...but I failed to recognize...that I was painting a with a very broad brush...and also that outer indications to not necessarily reflect the inner being of someone...now I will weaken the "niceness" of that statement...by saying even If I just let it stand...imo a person should not get mad at another person and force an apology either directly or subliminally without intent..just because they have a different theory on the question at hand...….without fact checking.my own post I am sure somewhere I did say it is not just the big C that applies to the question at hand...I say that be cause most are responding to the question at hand as though it were...Not sure if Halbert intended it to only refer to the big C...matters not...my intent was to expand the question to the deeper issue of why...in most issues of any import...sometimes the smaller issues create a deeper and harsher inverse relationship to the point of contention...than the bigger issues of which we tend to sweep under the rug...as it may reveal too much of the individuals real self...Again...follow the bouncing ball...it is not as difficult as it may seem...no pain...no gain is a truth...not a slogan to be ignored just to make life easier for someone....if the shoe fits wear it...with dignity...if it doesn't frack em all...one should know who THEY are...not what They think... Let me recap for you... We had an mpMRI done last month with an overall 4/5 suspicion ( also 5/5 for the DWI , which has been shown to correlate with gleason score)… While the MRI doesn't prove anything... the biopsy does not disprove anything either . If the MRI AND the biopsy were in alignment, I would feel better about this. But they are not, therefore, we are going to continue to pursue this.

The biopsy results did provide us with some relief... but forgive me if we are not 100% convinced.

We look forward to an appointment with Dr. Scholz in 2 weeks. Until then, biopsy slides are going to Dr. Epstein.

It is routinely advised here to receive a second opinion on biopsy results from the widely recognized experts.

It is also possible to receive a second opinion on MRI results.

I am an advocate of 3T multi-parametric MRI before first biopsy, but only from a recognized expert. When I was seeking same for my high PSA condition, my research convinced me that an expert analysis could only be received in a very small number of locations where the true experts practice. In November 2017, I flew from the west coast to Chattanooga, TN, to benefit from the expertise of Dr. Joseph Busch. At that time, he was doing second opinions for a fee.

I went back and read your earlier thread where the text of your husband's MRI report was given.

Two observations:

1. There was a notation - Quality: Motion artifact mildly degrades the examination.

2. The only name on the report was Haatal Dave, MD. INTERNET searches revealed some information about her, but nothing that would attribute status as an expert.

And there was the bug, a gadfly I believe, who was transmogrified into a human being, but remained a gadfly at heart. Bulgakov (Heart of a Dog) has written wonderful little tale about the human-animal connection. Bukowski is unreadable.

Adams proved, that the answer isn't the answer, and it's more important to discover the question to the answer.

Having lived in San Francisco...during most of the 70's...I have a penchant for the local poets...writers...and such...I liked Bukoski.just be cause...he was Bukoski…How bout Richard Brautigan TimG….I actually met and had a beer with him in one of the single bars on lower Filmore kitty corner to the Balboa Cafe corner of Chestnut and Filmore back in the day...had no idea who he was...maybe a nobody like me{at the time." but I could have been a contender " }... he struck me as his own man...funny hat big handle bar mustache...and showed his wit as we stood near the bar bout 3 deep...with odd and inciteful lines...the one I remember most... Thanks for your interesting personal reflections about Richard Brautigan. I haven't read him. Sounds a bit like the guy who wrote The Third Policeman, Flann O'Brien

Is sometimes described as catastrophizing. I think we all do it to some degree. We hold our breath with anxiety as we hope for an important outcome (such as a very favorable biopsy). Then when we get what we want, we find a way to nitpick it. Not just with a biopsy, but with any major event in life.

Maybe it’s a natural selection thing against complacency. Those less likely to be complacent may have had a survival advantage.

The point I was attempting to make--poorly it turns out--Is that many times, an individual will have a good test result--and then a second "confirming" test result that is also good--and then a third--and then a 4th--ad nauseum. Or someone sees a slight uptick in their UPSA after treatment---and immediately goes into "I'm gonna die" mode---same thing, or after a few upticks, a downtick happens--and "this must be wrong!"

I'm pondering, why do we (and yes, I include me in we) do this so readily?
