No Subject (Part 2)

A recent experience while attending a performance of Handel's messiah...prior to the performance folks had the opportunity to listen and ask questions with the orchestra's conductor...bear in mind the conductor shapes the performance and the musicians/chorus and no conductor is alike...there were only about 10 or 15 folks attending this preshow event...I liked the conductor...tho there was a pomposity that had a rippling effect ...anyway when the performance began there was rigidity mixed with stuffyness..much like the beefeaters and the palace guards....of course the whole performance was leading up to the final crescendo of which, anyone who as heard and/or seen the performance are aware...and for any who have not seen or heard it...it is magnificence...my wife and I found ourselves getting more and more uncomfortable with it both physically and spiritually as the pomposity spread to those around us.... the notes carrying waves...transformed by ears of pretense...we were seated very near the back of a theater with nary a bad view... as the performance approached the afore mentioned crescendo...we looked at each other...stood up and.....left....

epilogue...granted...the senses of my spouse and myself...both alike...may have been merely a construct...construed for our own unity in a subliminal fashion...or maybe we should never have gone to the pre-show discussion...in any event...as we exited the theater to a very empty sidewalk on a beautiful late sunday afternoon...it was a matinee you see...we could not stop giggling...it was a great "performance"...as all things are....

Logo, I hope if it turns into anything, it's just a bunch of people sitting at a bar who are talking and laughing and smiling.
Just like in high school with my buddies, we'd drive around sipping on Boones or Coors and talk about nothing at all.
But it sure was something.

Just the finest wine available, back when it was sold in liquor stores and had a little more punch than today.
