Now March 27th....Doc has a bad case of the Flu, but is supposed to give me a call....hopefully with a PSA of 0.00 or less, lol.
I think a little anxiety induced brain fog is normal when getting information from your Doctor...My first post-op visit, I was so eager to get that cursed Foley out, I wasn't thinking very clearly. Following this, I was so excited to find that I had urinary control, that I don't think I was quite as receptive as I should have been. I remember being told that the procedure went very very well, that the seminal vesicles and lymph nodes were clear, surgical margins were negative, yet some extracapsular extension was noted, then the word "miniscule" was used, followed by "focal", then blah blah blah....Charlie Brown's school teacher. This is why we bring the wife along, and ask that she take detailed notes. Again, I don't care who you are, it is okay to be a little off of your game. Again, I think Mumbo nailed it in his post.
I am a Realtor. I pride myself on responding to people quickly, because I want them to have the information they need, and don't like leaving things hanging. It has been my experience that Urologists and other Docs are not in such a hurry. I tell myself that this is encouraging, and that their lessened "sense of urgency" should remind me that I have plenty of time, and that an immediate call may not be to convey good news.....So I deal with this better than I used to. Besides, we do have plenty of time! Hang in there!
