Depov, I am 3 months post RP I have been sharing your frustration. But I am not giving up and fortunatly my wife is very understanding and working with me to figure out new ways of doing things to make things work. After 30 years of marriage we knew which buttons to push for each other. None of that works anymore, so its like were starting over.

I also am on 60 mg of sildenafil 3x a week. I did get a pump, but dont like it so instead I take the 60 mg, put in an adult movie and do it myself. I usually have success doing that. nothing happens without the medication though

I find that I have to concentrate fully on my little buddy 100% on achieving an erection to get one, and after its up, maintain that concentration or he'll go down, even at 100 mg sildenafil. I have tried different size constriction rings but that doesnt help. Even when concentrating fully on him, it will only last a few min. Problem is I cant devote attention to my wife at this time or I'll loose it.

My question is, should I try Cialis or Lavitra instead? Do they work enough differently that it might help my problem? I go back to see my surgeon, and I think she would switch my medication if I asked her too.

Thanks for your post Roadranger82.

As far as your question; my understanding about Cialis is that it is more continuous. You take it more regularly and it makes you ready and able whenever you need it. Someone can correct me on that if I am wrong. Maybe you can try it and see for yourself- the only way to find out for sure.

My situation has improved, though not enough for prolonged penetration. I do feel aroused on days that I am not taking Sildenafil. There is an erection. Not 100%. My wife and I have been working things out and I can not complain. I had the most mind-blowing orgasm ever the other day. Yes, it was on a medication day. I have to say I give full credit to my wife. I told her what was working and she went to town.

I do not like the pump either. It makes things hurt a bit and look weird. However, I do feel like I need to use it now and then to see if it will straighten out the Peyronies which I got well before surgery. Of course, that makes things even more difficult.

Some spare thoughts: alcohol makes things more leaky, especially when aroused. The kegels are very helpful, I am now in week 5 of therapy. Sometimes doing things yourself is the only way to go. I am so very happy that I have not lost my intimate relationship with my wife. Things are not the same. I am just working for improvement.

So far, so good.

I feel I am doing well after RP, ADT and SRT. I get strong erections with Cialis (although I get headaches and have crazy, intense dreams) and kind of hit and miss when not on Cialis. My biggest issue is climacturia...urine leakage at the point of orgasm. Sometimes I'm dry but other times there is a lot of leakage. Yes, I do try and fully empty the bladder prior to sex and try sitting down and other positions to fully vacate. But that doesn't always work. Sex and alcohol don't mix. I do my kegels but wonder if its going to get better over the time.

I'm definitely going to agree...that's pretty good. I can't help much with the climacturia, but try taking 2 ibuprofen tabs each time you take Cialis...this was a trick my primary physician suggested to me and it helped. In fact, as he suggested it would, my body adjusted to the Cialis (tadalifil) and after some number of weeks I dropped the ibuprofen and found it was no longer needed.

I do occassionally get a little climacturia squirt, but for me it's not very much...I could see how if it was a lot more it could be more of an issue. It is something that my wife and I have talked openly about...the fact that every now and then I give a little squirt of sterile urine...not a big deal between us, and neither of us makes a big deal about it when it happens. I won't get too specific here, but I found that it happens more frequently in certain positions...I happen to really like that position, and since it doesn't happen to frequently I'm not avoiding it...but that would also be a possible mitigation step if it were worse for me.

good luck...try the ibuprofen.

Depov I'm about two months ahead of you. My first few experiences with sex post-surgery I had leakage problems, but it seemed to stop about a month ago and things got much better. I still do my Kegels religiously, and last wore a diaper or pad on 12/31/18. I am using both Tadalafil and Sildenafil - not on any particular protocol. My Uro told me to gradually build up to whatever seemed to work. I have the most success on the weekends in the morning. I take a 20mg Tadalafil first thing in the morning and 150mg of Sildenafil about an hour before, and I use the vacuum pump to jump start things. It has been getting better each time. I have no leakage, my orgasms are as good as before if not better. They seem to last much longer, and I am totally spent when its over. My experience has been that the more I use it or attempt to use it, the better it gets. Very much like weight training - the more you train, the stronger you get. It definitely is a whole new experience than before but each time, it gets a little closer to how it was. Keep up the good work and good luck!

would like to know if Iam wrong on this and its something I can try.

Also wondered if I was taking a daily doseage of 5 mg of cialis could I boost it to 20 mg on a day when the wife and I want to play?

Good to know you are still whole after SRT. I too had SRT in 2016 and still getting erections with pills. I live in constant fear things will get worse because everyone said that would happen after SRT. My urologist was more hopeful. There is very little mentioned on erections after SRT on this board.

To those who are reading this thread- be very patient- I had nothing for 16 months and that’s when pills started to work. Those who get erections in 3-6 months are not common. After 16 months things moved quickly for me. I did full rehab with pump,pills, and self practice.

Roadranger82: No my doctor did not recommend combining the two, but he did recommend taking as much as 150mg and even up to 200mg of Viagra. He would not prescribe either until I had incontinence pretty much under control which took about 4 weeks. I think his exact words were "no woman is going to want to have sex with you anyway if your peeing all over yourself" Lol! When I went back for my 6 week follow-up he prescribed both medications and told me to experiment and see what worked the best for me. I have taken both (a few hours apart) on several occasions over the last month and it seems to be effective. No side effects thus far. I'm probably a little impatient, but I am fairly pleased with how I've progressed with the ED issue three and a half months post-surgery. My Doc says that he expects me to have more and more progress in this area as time goes by. I hope he's right.

Saw my local uro and he said that I can take 100mg of Sildenafil every time instead of just once a week. He also gave me a tip on cheap meds: goodrx.com. There is a coupon for 30 pills for just $43. Especially handy if you don't have insurance.

Also, he said to dump the pump. If things are working without it, why bother. Just need to find more time. smile

The problem I am having with the Sildenafil is that it makes me tired. I do sleep well, but it takes a lot of effort to perform and sometimes I just give up before any happy conclusion. The doc says I will have to take this for about a year, but I am hoping to stop well before then if I can. Sometimes I feel like a zombie at work the day after.

Try something different although they will be much more expensive, cialis generic?
