The general answer is that, according to research, most people, both men and women, find instruction delivered in a female voice "warmer" and "more understanding." (Think Alexa, Siri, etc.)
But the video also notes that for some things, like automated instruction on computer use, people prefer a male voice. (More authoritative?)
As automated instructional voices are everywhere now (think how often you call a business these days and get an automated voice telling you to stay on the line because "your call is very important to us," etc.), the next time this happens, while you're waiting for a response, it might be interesting to note the voice gender and try and figure why they probably used a female voice instead of a male, or vice versa.
