My follow up visit with my MO yesterday provided some good news. Although I’m not feeling like running a marathon anytime soon, my fatigue is fading. Hot flashes have diminished and Lupron fog is lifting. I’m now 7 months post my last Lupron injection and believe that I’m turning a corner.

Better yet my PSA is still undetected and T level has moved from casterate level <10 ng/dl only 4 months ago to 246 ng/dl now. Someone on this forum one said, “don’t turn your back on the beast”, so I’m not declaring victory here, but from where I started this journey... much has improved.

Who are you seeing there? (I've spent a lot of time on the infusion floor at Northwestern's downtown facility; excellent team...great views out over the lakefront from the top floor, but overall would rather not be there!)

Congrats on the continued good reports - may you have many, many more. My husband is in the midst of the journey, surgery 8/18, ADT started 12/18, radiation just begun on 4/2/2019. Hope and pray he gets similar results.

Naples, Great to see that report from a fellow G-9! Keep it going! Sometimes the G-9 guys get kinda questioned on having surgery but it seems to have worked good for you and it's working good so far for me and I guess that's all we can hope for except a lifetime of undetectable PSA's. Glad to hear some of the side effects are disappearing I look forward to that.

My MO is Dr Maha Hussain. She’s an excellent example of what it means to be both a scientist and a person who understands what her patients are dealing with, and spends the time on both. Pretty amazing when you consider she’s a woman and will never have prostate cancer!

Also... I like the views too but pressing 21 on the elevator is not the kind of penthouse we’d like to visit frequently. My wife and I go to lunch at the Drake Hotel’s Coq D’Or restaurant after every visit to celebrate. Could be something to this treatment too. Be well!

Naples - surgery was a game changer for me even though I had multiple mets outside prostate area, lymph nodes, bones, and lungs. It was definitely out of the box back in 2013/2014 when I had mine. Good for you on your success and continued zeros on PSA.

Great news smile. Naples, i was just reading up on your journey and i found a post in 2016 which said your uro was not positive but MO was much more optimistic. The same is the case with my dad. After seeing your undetectable PSA since March 2017 it has reinforced my belief on dad's MO. Here's wishing you many more years with undetectable PSA's smile

My experience with my Urologist was unforgettable and because of his opinions, I have recommended to others to avoid continuing care without a medical oncologist. This issue seems to be trending, so I guess there’s something to it. My oncologist is a professional therefore, she avoided speaking about my previous care giver and suggests that I forget about what he said, and focus on the future. I think that is good advice.

I have been very fortunate in my continued undetected PSA considering my high grade cancer. The only advice that I have, is to keep a positive mental attitude and avoid people who suggest otherwise. The brain is a powerful thing.

Good luck to your Dad. I’m sure that he is grateful for your support.

0.00 on a checking account statement bad... 0.0 on a psa report... happy dance, congrats. I see my Uro next week, my last 4 month shot was 4/1/19 undetectable still but kinda meaningless. If any changes in future I will see an MO for sure.
