Well we just got home from my third trip to MDA in Houston. It has been five years since I was last there so they treat me as a "new patient" even though they still have all the original test results, etc. My original oncologist has moved on so I have a new one, very experienced and on top of things.
The main progression is new bone mets in the clavicle, sternum and ribs. Still I have no pain or other troubles. CT scan uncovered nothing of concern. So my cancer is in the bone at this point. PSA is jumping around a bit 4.45 to 5.8 to 5.1 to 6.2 all in the matter of two months. So I proactively referred to MDA.
My new Onco there knows my local Onco and they are communicating on a plan. I found a new phase one trial called ARV-110. Yes, I found it and asked the doctors about it. Thanks ZERO! Both doctors like this as a fit for me. We don't know yet if I can get in as they are limiting number of patients. In summary, the new Onco says chemo is in my future but he favors something else, like this trial, at this point if I can qualify and get a seat soon. I am BRCA negative and have PTEN mutation ( I think that is all correct). They want to do another genetic testing called Guardant360 but MDA does not offer that blood test (That's a shocker), If not Guardant360 then I will have the needle biopsy for genetics guided by the scan results, as I understand, to find the tumors. Thoughts please!
