I got my last lupron shot a year ago and had my one year blood draw today. Liking the results so far.

It could take a year to 2 years for T to fully come back, after a course of 18 months of Lupron. 156 is actually not terrible in that it’s showing progress.

Like Prato said. There is no set timeframe for T. Some guys are struggling and using T replacement to get their levels up. MO said she would be happy seeing triple digits at this point. Any progress is good progress. When it was at 6, I was concerned. Now at 156, I’ll take it for now. I can tell it’s going up because of the Italian curse. Body hair is coming back with a vengeance. 😟

When a guy says his last shot was a year ago I never know whether that was when he received the shot or when it wore off. Lupron comes in one, three, four, and six-month shots so that is a further confusion. If he received a six-month shot last July then it wasn't supposed to wear off unitl January and his T recovery is on the brisk side of typical. If his last Lupron shot was supposed to have worn off last July then 156 is at this point is slightly sluggish but... but... since his T was 6 in October, then 56 in February, and 156 now then the trend is decidedly hopeful.

Peter, just an fyi. Had 3 month shots. My last shot was in July 2018 and would have worn off in October 2018.

There was another recent thread here in which I had posted about the six month half life of Lupron depot injections. So assuming a six month shot, at the end on 12 months there should be 50% serum leuprolide remaining in the system (six months to fully dissolve plus six month half life). At 18 months there should be 25% left and at the end of the second year in would be 12.5%, then around 6-7% after another six months.

Another PCa brother once used the term "ADT release" to describe the point in time when the last shot has stopped dissolving and should begin to wear off. My final six month shot was nearly 18 months ago and my T is still very low. My urologist says that it can take 12-18 months for the testicles to kick in again after a longer course of Lupron.

As I understand it, the older you are and the longer you were on Lupron the longer it will take to wear off.
