Wow having a Lupron nite so decided to get on the puter and started looking up studies on BCR. I think sometimes if a person just diagnosed with PCA joined our forum and started reading they could get pretty confused and and apprehensive about the different treatment options available to them. I have just spent the last several hrs reading about the use of surgery in higher risk patients and it's outcome as far as BCR, All the many different kinds of radiation and their outcomes, the overuse of ADT or the lack of ADT with all it's side effects. One study showed that a positive margin was important, another showed that it wasn't really that important, and the staging of the prostate after surgery wasn't always fool proof as there is human hands involved and not all labs are the same or up to the highest standards even read one study that said lab results could be read as to make the hospital or surgeon look good? I guess what I'm trying to say in my Lupron fog is that each of us on this forum based on our experiences has different opinions and ideas not so unlike the hundreds of studies that are out there, The one thing that impressed upon me the most was the importance of finding the best Doctor and facility that they are able to! This will have the greatest impact such as Margins, Proper Radiation, and probably the most important is SIDE EFFECTS down the journey. So just want to encourage people to be their own advocate choose the best team and treatment for them as to their own personal condition and then go forward! Have a great day! 😊😊
