I have really been wondering about this issue last few months.
Suppose a guy knows he has a positive margin (mine was 3mm, gleason 3+3=6). Or maybe just bits of benign prostate tissue hanging around after RALP--according to Dr. Myers' videos, even the best surgeons leave bits like this.
Now assume some of these tissue(s) don't die off over time but just sit there and put out some PSA, maybe even grow a little (cancer tissue or benign).
Under those conditions, is there any reason to think something like bike riding (or sex) just before a blood draw *would not* bump up psa on an ultrasensitive PSA test? Since wife and I are moderate bikers, I have been trying to avoid biking just a few days before a blood draw. I am doing everything I can to get meaningful monthly uPSA test results. I have been sitting at the infamous ".03 pavilion" for some time -- it is supposedly the gateway to hell.
Of course, there is no published info on this that I can find, but if anybody knows, please contribute.
