So I'm going in this afternoon for my 4.5 years post RALP PSA. Dr. appt is next Tuesday, Sept 17, my 61st birthday. I have no reason to suspect anything but another "<". And yet....the gorilla in my head is starting to beat his chest and throw the American Tourister suitcase around (extra points if you remember the ad).

I'll be ok. But there is a twinge of anxiety.

I don't think it ever goes away completely, regardless of how many PSA tests one has under his belt.

I'm the rookie of the bunch had RALP on 8/19/19, but I'm not a rookie when it come to anxiety. Think positive, and stay focus and the great things that are instore for you tomorrow. I wish you the best, and my money is on you, take care and FIGHT.

See if you can call to get the result prior to the doctor office visit. For my last one, I called and the receptionist said: "I can't give you the result over the phone, but I can tell you it is the same as the last one." Getting the result early like that eliminate a few days of dreadful waiting.

Fiddle: labcorp usually posts it on their website within 48 hrs of the draw.

I've been doing this 17 years and the anxiety is always there while waiting for test results, which I happen to be doing today. On the other hand, though the anxiety is there there, it's also sort of normal.

Yes, you will...I'm beginning to believe that hanging around here brings on more anxiety than anticipating the results of PSA tests ;-)

Sometimes I've opened the envelop and closed my eyes before reading the results. open eyes very, very slowly....squinting. (It takes hours to get a band aid off me)

Ha, sounds like me! I get the email notification from LabCorp - go to the website, sign in, hover the mouse pointer over the link, close my eyes, mumble a few things then click for the reveal. So far, so good.

I used to do the same with college grade notices and letters from the IRS.

For some reason, uPSA results every two months are NBD...yet.

I hope lab corp starts releasing earlier. I gave my blood draw on Friday, I saw message that they released to doc on Saturday , had to call the doc on Monday to get my results . Lab corp released test results on Tuesday ( at that point it’s of no use )

As of now it is 48 hrs since the blood draw, and crickets from labcorp.
