Yep.... it’s over! Huge bummer but I am okay. Today I had my first Lupron shot in 14 months. My 20 week PSA had gone from .06 to 3.03 That is just a shade less than a 4 week doubling time. My T level has shot up from less than 10 to 245. I am really going to miss it but I won’t miss my sack sticking to my leg on hot days. The good news is that as the weather turns colder I should save on heating bills.
I am fine. A little bummed but I expected it. There were definite signs. My doc is open to intermittent ADT so maybe I will get to feel the rush in the future. I will restart Zytige tomorrow.

No worries my man, you got this, I am claiming your next PSA will be down to near undetectable again. Zytiga will be give you"grace" once again. That, and you know who. Look up, ...and also look at it this way, 3.03 Is something like 1/ 1061 of your original diagnosis. That's an overall reduction of 99.91%, (Alephnull can check that math please) , so no concerns except for man boobs ,hot flashes, and lower T (doing the trimix again?) Take care my friend and continue Rockin in the free world, you are a true Rock Star.

Sorry for the news Todd. On the other hand, for, you, it’s just another chore that needs to be taken care of. You’ve proven that you are the ultimate fighter in this game, and your cancer has proven to be extremely “coachable”. You’ll get this taken care of with the grace with which you live life.

My urine stream was getting weaker and I had to strain a little to void completely. I was really fatigued and achy all over. That’s about it.

Just a bump in the road. Your body has already proved in the past, and done so amazingly, that it knows how to fight this thing. Look at how much you have come back from a bad place in the past!

So maybe this is going to be Round Two, or maybe it's even Round Three or Four, who cares? It's the beast that is going down on the mat again, not you!

I hadn't seen anyone with a faster PSADT than mine (6 weeks), sorry for that brother!

Alephnull, I think the doubling time may have been affected by the huge increase in Testosterone. It went from less than 5 up to 245 in 10 months.

Hey Todd, sorry to hear of the increase. I have some idea what that rising PSA along with rising T does to your head.

Glad you're on top of it. You've been diligent with your care, and I'm sure you and your docs will pursue the best path for you. All the best!

Thank you Jerry. I had a tough night last night. My brain wouldn’t shut down so I couldn’t sleep very well. I kept doing PSA doubling time in my head and realized it at the rate my PSA was doubling it would only take 21 or 22 months for my PSA to be right back up there at 3200 again. Then my brain was thinking dang, if treatment ever stops working I would only have 20 months. What was driving this was the fact that I had been really uncomfortable lately. My joints have all been stiff my muscles involved and achy and if I sit down for more than an hour it was very difficult for me to get up and get moving again. Yesterday I felt terrific. Nothing hurt and nothing eight and I thought man, I can’t believe how good I feel when I just started treatment the night before. I realize this morning that it had nothing to do with hormones. I restarted prednisone yesterday. That is the difference! I don’t think my adrenals Fully restarted after stopping Zytiga and prednisone and I think the reason for my discomfort is that my adrenal gland has not been making enough for the steroid my body needs to feel good.

Hang in there bud! We have to keep fighting.

I started a clinical trial yesterday (Corvus CPI-006). They bumped me from the arm I was told I'd be in, but something is better than being refused altogether.

I didn't sleep last night from being bummed about the change. I guess we got an early Friday the 13th.
