A while back I started a thread on how many prescript
ion drugs is too much. Part of that discussion was the difficulty of getting off SSRT anti-depressants. I wanted to post a follow up but I couldn’t find that thread.
So I’ve been on Sertraline , generic Zoloft for about
3 years. I fought my PCP for a long time , didn’t want to start yet another drug for life, but ultimately, I relented. Started at 25mg and ultimately went to 50mg.
Happy to say, I seem to have successfully weaned myself off it completely. I reduced dose to 25 mg, then after about
a month, maybe 2, don’t recall, I started splitting the pills and was on 12 1-/2 for two months. Then reduced to every other day.’ive been off it for 10 days, no I’ll effects.
So one less drug to deal with. Hopefully I won’t feel the need to go back on when the next crisis rolls around. But we’ll see
It can be done.

Prato
Good for you ! I am hesitant to wean off as I really like the way my days go - although I am on zyban. Not sure what long term effects are for using zyban.

Ditto the Good For You Pratoman. You managed to address what may have turned in to a real issue. Issues as noted in a previous post regarding pain medications. Is this another place for medical marijuana? In other words if given the choice of what some deem to be the lesser of the two evils, could marijuana be the lesser evil? In the states it is now legal are there any of (us) using to their advantage and staying off of pain and depressant medications? Am I on the verge of hijacking a thread? If so, sorry.
