I realize that after a PC diagnosis, our imagination is prone to attributing every new ache and pain to the cancer. My concern this morning is bruising. Getting ready to get in the shower when wife says "come here and turn around" and proceeds to show me in the mirror a humungous bruise on back of my thigh. Don't think I bumped it or got hit by anything recently. Finished 39 sessions of radiation treatment a few months ago but I don't think there's any reason that would cause bruising. Only physical things I did this weekend were golfing in an outing Saturday and hanging new blinds in a couple windows yesterday. Has anyone else noticed unexplainable bruising while on this journey?

What meds are you taking? Somethings like aspirin, ibuprofen and others act as natural blood thinners that can cause this kind of random, "I didn't think I bumped anything" kind of bruising.
and as my doctor often says, "well at your age ... "
We just bruise and bleed easier as we age.

At age 56, right before I got the C notice, I started taking Lisinopril. Doctor said my bruises were not related to the pills, but they must thin the blood. Because when I work on my 57 Chevy, my arms look like I was beat with a pipe!

It isn't listed on your signature that you were on ADT for your salvage RT. My MO told me that ADT could make me more susceptible to bruising.

It is hanging the blinds. You should not do any work around the house requested by your wife. Tell her a renowned authority on this site said to refrain from honey-do projects. (I'm neither renowned or an authority on anything but it sounds better)

Thanks for all the responses (particularly GoBucks!). I assumed it was no big deal, but thought I'd reach out and see if others had similar experiences. Not currently on any medications that thin the blood as far as I'm aware.
For Mattam, No ADT treatment as of yet.

Easy bruising can be associated with low platelets. Have you had a recent blood test?
