GTO - Good plan, time is your friend when healing up and you have allowed the right amount. My surgery was on Nov 6th, 2018 and I was fine at Thanksgiving for family and visitors and getting out and about as needed. After Christmas, I was feeling much better and if I was still working, it would have been about the right time to return to work assuming I could take off early if I was not feeling up to it. (Note: you do not need a cough, cold, or the flu in the month or so after surgery so all visitors and co-workers are bad in theory, my wife would sleep in a different bedroom and stay arms length from me if she had any symptoms). I also got back on my workout program after Jan 1st with much reduced weights trying to stay away from hernia related issues. Walking was not much of an issue after Thanksgiving but it was winter so had to deal with that as a slip would not be appreciated by half my body. Good luck with your surgery and recovery.
