can a UTI raise my PSA if I have no Prostate

Surgery 9-2016 Urethra stricture dilated 10-15-2019 with a Foley Cath for 10 days. Just had my PSA done today to see if I qualify for a PETCT trial at Mayo Clinic. It was 1.6 on July 2 2019 and had 3300 grays to a met on top end of right upper arm bone in July. Today's PSA is 3.42. Not sure if I have a UTI, it could be after effects of the dilation or irritation from the catheter removed this Tuesday.

I don't completely understand, but think it unlikely that a UTI would be causing this. Your doctor can test for a UTI. Without a prostate, there's nothing there to generate PSA and all of you PSA would likely come from PC mets.

In any case, if I were in your place, I'd be on the phone to the doctor to get some answers.

When the Urology nurse removed the Foley and taught me how to self-cath she said I would probably test positive for bacteria in my urine because of the Foley and if I did more self-cath. From what I have gathered from this site and one other nothing other than escaped and reproducing PC cells should cause a rise in PSA, but that first reaction to a jump in your PSA is such a knee-jerk "Oh Crap". I am already scheduled for a repeat C11 Choline PETCT at Mayo Clinic on Nov 25. My local urologist doesn't work Fridays - Sundays but I will update her and Dr. Kwon at Mayo with the new PSA. At one of my recent therapy sessions I said I view my PC as a long term game of Whack-A-Mole, whenever the PC mole pops back up we decide what hammer to use and whack it back into submission, probably time to grab that hammer again.

I absolutely hate to say this, but it looks to me that your cancer has metastasized to other places.
