My father in law has a 700 PSA & is in pain

Hi all, I usually post here to get info for my hubby ( you can see his situation in my signature below)
But now I am here looking for advice for my 84 year old father in law.
He is the type of man that is super stubborn and refused to go to the doctor his ENTIRE LIFE... Well finally my husband was able to get him in to the ER because his back was really starting to hurt and we also noticed some weight loss. He lives a couple of hours away and we had not seen him in about a month, and the weight loss was dramatic.
Well, I guess we now know that Pca runs in the family because along with a brain hemorrhage and massive abdominal aneurism, he was also diagnosed with PCA with widespread mets and a PSA of 700. This is why his back hurts.We also think he is starting to develop some dementia.

At this point we just want to make him as comfortable as possible. Is there anything that can be done to alleviate the pain from the mets? Will ADT help?

He also has a huge aneurism in his abdomen. He may qualify for a minimally invasive procedure to fix it. It seems to be the most pressing matter at this point, as it can rupture at any moment and cause instant death. The brain hemorrhage I guess will clear up on its own the doctors were saying.
Poor guy, he is in bad shape.
My husband was saying if it were him, he would want all the doctors to leave him alone, and just let him go home and let nature take it's course...

Agree with above. ADT is the best bet to reduce his pain, possibly to include pain medication.

While the aneurism might blow tomorrow it may never rupture and kill him..In many cases, most cases, ADT can bring on a dramatic improvement in his PSA and tumor burden. From 700 down to 10 or less is possible. And the pain should go with it.. He could get several more years with a half-way decent quality of life..But if he distrusts doctors and refuses treatment, if he is ready to turn off the lights, prefers that, then there is not much you can do...Hospice (Medicare pays 100%) will come in to his home, make him comfortable and relieve his pain while nature runs its course..

The plan is to start him on casodex and then in a couple of weeks he will get a Lupron shot.
I hope this will help relieve his pain.
The vascular surgeon has advised not to do any surgery... they also just discovered that he has a partially collapsed carotid artery... he is a mess!
