UPDATE ON 142

Our friend 142 is getting losing his strength. I got a report today. Worried Guy flew in to see what he could do to help our friend. I call 142 yesterday and he was not able to communicate with me. The only thing that I got from him that I could understand was "I will call you later"

Knowing that Worried Guy had a ticket to fly in to see how he could help. I called him and said not sure what you will find when you get there but 142 cant communicate on the phone.

So today Worried Guy got there and called me and said it is worse that you all thought. Very little communication in him. Very weak and thin.

We are trying to find out if he has someone with power of attorney. We dont know. 142 is going to try to dig for info.

Pray for our friend. Such a good guy. Our hearts are breaking!

Just wanted you guys to know.

So truly sorry to hear this.

Is 142 single? I seem to remember that fact being stated in a forum post once, unless I'm confusing him with someone else.

If it is the case, I do hope he has some kind of family with him at this time.

At least he has us.

I joined the forum nearly 10 years ago.
142 has been such a steadying presence on this site.
I am so so sorry to hear of his current situation.
He needs to know that the work he has done here has meant a lot to many of us.

For some reason, I thought I would check in to see what is going on with old friends. How sad I am to hear this news about 142. He was one of the first I met here, along with An, Pratoman, Clocknut, and David. In fact, we all posted on a thread called "August Surgeries" (2010). This forum meant so much as it helped me and Ron get through some rough times.
Ron hasn't gotten cancer, but he is dealing with Mild Cognitive Impairment. We are getting old and these things happen. Hello to old friends. I hope all is well. Thoughts and prayers for 142. I hope someone will visit him.

EDIT: David is Purgatory. Has anyone heard from him?
