I dont have any info. I'm replying just to keep this thread near the top of the list, in the hope someone's in contact with him or his family. I've been wondering/worrying about him too.

I did a google search with his full name and phone no. I guess no news is good news.

I recall that Purgatory (David) is married to an R. N. (as I am). When you're married to an R. N., you can usually count on getting excellent medical advice both at home and from the medical specialists. Those R. N.s really tend to know their stuff. So, I'm pretty confident that he and his medical team are doing all that can be done to help him through this ordeal.

Stay strong, David, and know that a whole lot of your PCa brothers keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

David, I wish we had more heroes like you in our world today!!! Enjoyed reading your post and look forward to more!

If you are reading this, FWIW I did some searching and found out there are these things available now called "speech-to- text" apps (also called "dictation software").

As the name implies, they take speech directed at the computer and type it automatically on to the screen.

Here's an article that discusses some of these apps on the market right now and their availability:

It also lists their prices, which seem reasonable, and some are even listed as free. From the article:

"Voice recognition software varies in price depending on what your needs are. You can either get basic voice recognition software free or purchase premium software ranging from $4.99 to $80.00 for a software license."

How hard are they to install? I don't know, but I'm hoping some of our resident computer experts here, some of whom may even have real-life experience with such things, may weigh in now and discuss the possibilities that something like this may be of help to you.

That is, assuming you are even interested in something like this. But it does seem like something that might be of help to you, not only for making it easier for you to communicate with us here, but for computer use in general.

YesClocknut...one would think so...for the record..other than Steve n Dallas... and maybe 1 or 2 more who are currently active members...I have been on the Purgatory train from the start of most that ails him...the radiation and catheter combo...jonny come latelys ...need not apply...my acronyms...unfortunately will not be denied...I sincerely hope that Purgatory can find comfort.but quite frankly...I do not see that forthcoming...and trust not what he says on any matter...( note mods, the issue is mine...a lack of trust...I am not slamming him...as I ave no idea what is in his head) should I just stay quiet...probably...I suppose my "sins" will have to be forgiven...like the rest of the "sins" of the many here... if not ...I will be comforted by that lack as a buttress to my post...funny...how the universe works...and 'ah my friends and ah my foes'...I am.no more and certainly no less than you...a part of the universe/multiverse

Hi David! I pop in from time to time and wondered how you were doing? It saddens me that your Parkinson's has advanced. Ron and I talk about you from time to time. You were so supportive to us. Ron beat the cancer but unfortunately he is at battle with Mild Cognitive Impairment which may lead to Alzheimer's Disease. I am doing fairly well. I know it is difficult for you to communicate, just know there are those of us who remember you well. Take care folks!

So great to hear from you guys!! That mammoth “August surgeries” thread back in 2010 broke all records but was so very helpful.

Yes, we are doing well, thought about you all when Paul got his 9 year results which were 0.02.
So all good on the PCa front. Paul had to have one of his hips replaced 2 years ago, a combination of many years playing rugby and age. All good on that front too. There are always new things that pop up as time marches on.

Wish you and Ron and your families a great 2020! And David, I know you are struggling with many afflictions, hope your load becomes lighter this year.
