Is There % Data Pointing Gleason Scores > Mets?

Just wondering what % of G7, 8, 9, 10 are found to have breached the capsule and spread to lymphs, bone, etc.

Got a biopsy tomorrow, and just need more to read, to "torment myself with", as I wait for path report.

I agree with the above. You don't know if you have prostate cancer yet, so don't get carried away thinking about the worst that could happen. I know it's difficult to control your thoughts, but you should just wait until you get test results. I have heard that half of PCa biopsies yield a negative (meaning good) finding. A bunch of those that are positive are such minor cases that no treatment is needed. So, I suggest that today instead of reading up on PCa on your computer, you should go for a walk, a bike ride, or just do something to keep your mind occupied and away form the tedious subject of PCa. Good luck with your biopsy. While I would never volunteer for one unless it was needed, it really wasn't that bad. Remember to take your anti-biotic.

First, most men are never diagnosed with or treated for PCa.

Second, about two-thirds of those diagnosed have a very indolent form which usually does not need to be aggressively treated.

Third, fewer than 7% are advanced stage and fewer yet have distant mets at diagnoses.

Relax. You don’t really know anything yet. Your biopsy may confirm PCa, but remember 50% of biopsies are negative. If it is positive, it will indicate the grade and extent in the gland, but it will tell you absolutely nothing about whether PCa is outside the prostate gland. You may still have a lot of investigating to do. If I remember your PSA is less than 10, but rose recently. You may have PCa, but it is very unlikely that your pains are prompted by PCa Mets.

How high is your PSA? Unless it's quite high, you're unlikely to have mets.

The Partin tables give some idea of risk of lymph node involvement, extracapsular extension, and so on.

None of it works without a Gleason score. You only get that from a biopsy. Until you get that information all speculation is a complete waste of mental energy, and stress you sure don't need.
