Once healed up you’ll forget all about the surgery ...
IF ONLY.... Of sixteen surgeries in my lifetime, some of them involving week long stays in the hospital, I wish I could forget the horrible nightmare that the AUS implant surgery turned out to be. Some may remember my tale of woe from the other forum. What was promised to be a 45 minute procedure, I was scheduled to be the first surgery of the day. I was first to arrive, and last to be taken into the ER. I was there for nearly twelve hours. And had a Foley catheter for two weeks before the surgeon replaced the AUS, hooking a nerve that runs down the back of my leg in the process.
All of this runs thru my mind every time I have to urinate, or even simply sit down. The surgeon never provided any sort of explanation, where any ordinary person would expect an apology. He acts as though he was not even involved. And gives me the cold shoulder every time I visit him for a checkup. As soon as COVID clears up, I'll be looking for another urologist, AGAIN.
It's a story I
never tell newbies who inquire about
getting an AUS. I am happy that most men are pleased with theirs. I just wish I were treated the same way that ordinary people are. I am a man of normal build, not obese or anything. I researched the device beforehand, and asked an annoying number of questions of the surgeon. I can't think of anything I could have done differently. Sometimes things just go wrong, and often, it just happens to me.
