Hello Larry E. ~~~
I know you have reached a decade milestone of treatment success.
That's a powerful story that encourages our new members here!
You mentioned PROLIA shots, to bolster bone density.
I have been on continuous ADT shots for 7 solid years now (LUPRON, then FIRMAGON, and now ZOLADEX).
A recent bone density re-test this past summer indicated a continuing need for the PROLIA shots, to bolster bone density.
My insurance covers them --- they are pricey.
It's simply a shot given in your arm, every six months. Easy, breezy ...
You might experience a faint sensation of "tingling" in your bones for a few days afterwards, but nothing bothersome, whatsoever.
It is ESSENTIAL that you notify your dentist that you are on PROLIA shots.
This is something they REALLY want noted in your dental records, for each check-up --- in case you have dental or jawbone issues currently --- or down the road.
I have had no issues with PROLIA shots --- and I am also told to take daily calcium tablets, too --- found in the "vitamin section" at the store --- over the counter, nothing fancy --- but the calcium tablets help maintain and "build back" bone density, as well.
The ADT shots "leech" out calcium from our bones, so the PROLIA shots you mentioned and calcium tablets help counteract that "leeching" side effect.
I walk a few miles each day, as well. Staying active!
I am consistent with walking on weekends, too.
With winter around the corner --- be wary of "slips, trips, and falls" --- fellows on ADT shots need to be careful, due to compromised bone density.
Your treatments have been very successful ! So thankful!
With my best, from across the miles ~~~
