I have never been undectable, so I can't vote. I started in 2008, and despite surgery and radiation, still active,
last PSA was above 34.XX a few months ago. Congrats to all the seemingly "cured" guys, happy for you all.

Well, it is certainly informative, and encouraging, to learn just how many of us have remained undetectable, and for how long!

And what an encouragement it must be for those of us not all that long past treatment to see first-hand, from the experiences of their fellow forum members, that the prospect of being undetectable years later, even many years, is very possible indeed!

A look at the thread survey on distribution of number of years undetectable shows an even pattern, which I guess is to be expected from what has been likely a more or less random sampling of experiences.

But to see that almost a quarter of those responding have remained undetectable for over ten years! Remarkable! And most encouraging!

Thanks to everyone for submitting his number, and special thanks to those, such as Cyclone-ISU, who also posted such valuable commentary on their experiences.

Here's to more and more years of undetectability for all of us!

Got my next PSA reading in a couple of weeks and hopefully I can celebrate my 6th year.
I was just looking at the survey results. As I reply, only 23 respondents show being non-detectable for a year or more. Hopefully, it's a case of not everyone responding otherwise it is very humbling and very sobering to think so many of our brothers are actively battling this disease. And I was among those at one time. It is hard to celebrate my good fortune knowing so many of you are still fighting. But I do remember how encouraging it was for me back then to read about those who were non-detectable for five years or more and it gave me hope.

One and a half years after surgery, uPSA was detectable (0.004).
I was very worried because I always thought that this disease had ended for me. After all, my PSA at the time of surgery was 2.2 and the postoperative results were very good (negative surgical margins, clean seminal vesicle , clean lymph nodes and no extraprostatic extension).

The Healing Well forum is very educational, it has helped me a lot to understand about the possibilities of PC progression. I have been following this forum since 2016, as soon as I became a detectable but I try not to interact by posting my opinions because it reminds me of the disease.

Sorry to all the forum members for never interacting with you, I am certainly a selfish guy, because I have been reading your posts just to seek comfort for my mind.

Being detectable or undetectable depends on the PSA limit we consider, see below:
<0.003: 1 and a half year
<0.03: 4 years
<0.05: 6 years (last PSA =0.048)

Told I had 5 years at Dana Farber. That was in 2006, will be 14 years since surgery December 13. Last PSA in 2019 was <0.004

Hi all, I haven't posted for a long time, I used to post when my father was diagnosed.

I guess it has been just over 10 years now......gleason 9/10, treated with IMRT and taxotere. It was a rough year, but he made it through and has been cancer free all this time, alive and well in his mid-70's.
