In the words of the article below " ... this Saturday feels like an emotionally climactic night, a morbid moment punctuating a year of death and suspense. Halloween, a daylight saving time change and a full moon all align on a singular night."

And the symbols of Halloween " ... feel a little more personal, having had death hang like a cloud over this year."

Impeachment, Covid, riots/burning/looting then more Covid. A truly crazy year. And now time for elections and flu season, before CV19 is even finished. Just seems insane. But on the bright side, at least we are not Poland being invaded from both borders at the start of WW2.

But we have 3 planets visible most clear nights for a few weeks now
Jupiter very bright in the southern sky. Saturn much fainter just to its east
And a spectacular, bright Mars in the eastern sky (8pm Eastern is best for all 3)

You know it is close to winter when getting in the car for the commute to work in the dark and Orion the Hunter is in the sky.

Remember the macabre humor of the old black & white television show "The Addams Family" with Lurch the butler, Cousin It, Morticia, Gomez, & Uncle Fester --- to name a few characters that come to mind?

These days, they might have an episode where a long-lost creepy cousin stays for the weekend ... his name would be "Cousin Covid" ... and this unwelcome guest might be sequestered and quarantined in a gothic-styled cottage at the back of their creepy property ... in a guest cottage labeled "Corona Cottage" ... surrounded by overgrown black rosebushes ... Morticia Addams always remembered for growing black roses ... favoring the thorn-covered stems, instead of the black blooms.

Trick-or-Treat! Full moon this weekend! It's a blue moon, in fact!

We have a pandemic, halloween, a blue moon, a hurricane in the southeast, blizzards in the northeast and great plains, a time change, a bizarre election, and an asteroid rushing towards us. What else could possibly happen?
