November PSA Results

As someone mentioned a while ago, Compiler, was for a while starting a monthly thread for PSA results. I figured since i just got mine, id start it off this month.
PSA came back at <.05, so i am happy. I finished SRT in November 2018, and at the same time got my last 3 month Lupron shot. Was on ADT a total of 6 months.

On a less exciting note, my Testosterone dropped from a meager 268 in June, which was my highest number post ADT, to a more meager 221. Very discouraging. I had a feeling it might have dropped, been a little tired lately, been getting some "mini hot flashes" no sweats just hot, and i think a little depressed lately but that could be from anything.

Anyway, crappy T with good PSA news is better than the reverse, so no complaints.

Rich, i am still on 6 month. When i finished treatment, RO told me that if i go undetectable for 2 years, it can come back but its rare. (not so sure thats true from what i have seen here). February will be 2 years after the 3 month period post my w month shot. (hope that made sense). So we'll see. I havent seen my RO in a year, i've been seeing the NP'S and the last appointment was a televist, due to covid. She suggestted that i request an appointment with Zelefsky, my RO, this time. But i couldnt get an appointment he is only seeing follow up patients one day a month. Which is very annoying. Anyway, i am doing a televisit with the NP on Monday morning, so we'll see what she says. Not much to talk about, thankfully.

Honestly even if she said to go to yearly testing, i wouldn't.

I've been on break from ADT for 18 months now. My PSA tested at 2.8 on Monday. When I had my telephone appointment yesterday with my MO I expected to be told it was time to start another round. But I was pleasantly surprised. He said as long as it is under 4 and rate of increase isn't accelerating I can stay on break. He said we'd test again and have another consult in 6 weeks. With a bit of luck I can have a hopefully short round of ADT over the winter and be back off it by spring.

Jim, glad you get to stay off the ADT for now, hope it continues with relatively stable PSA for a long while

Rob, I’m in NY still, heading down November 30th, although it’s probably not a smart thing to do right now. For mental health reasons I just have to head down there.

MSKCC uses the .05 threshold, which I don’t like, but I guess they figure they won’t do anything before .05 anyway. I may or may not go to labcorp, I’d like to know what’s going on “under the hood” so to speak, but on the other hand, why drive myself crazy

Have not been on here for some time. Have not posted my curr32ent on FB either which i was doing to help others. Trying to get other people to get there PSA tested.
Anyways, 63 now and almost 64 in few months. Had prostate removed and 13 lymph nodes and found one cancer cell in the 13. Who knows? They think they got it all but........
My last Lupron shot was Sept of 2019. 2 year regiment. Mood swings, hot flashes, weight gain, hair loss. The list goes on.
After a little over one year the hot flashes have almost gone away. Very seldom now . I went on a crash diet and lost 25 lbs as i got up to like 265 and now sticking around 240. Like to lose more but.....
My mind is clearer a year after the Lupron. my report says 80 percent of a chance it will come back. ( the cancer )
After the first year i came to the reason that i am doing all i can. now so far so good. last 3 PSA checks are less then .05 I think that is as low as they go with where i get tested for there scale. I GOT THIS.
I had non never sparing surgery and this is my new problem. I am ok if it never works but i am now decided to look at the next avenue for "Johnny to come marching home again! Horahh ! )
Living is much more important then that but at least i am looking into it.
