Just venting, not looking for sympathy or advice, just need to talk.
2020 has really sucked!
Covid has me working by my own effing self, no contact with anyone. Basement of home or work, it sucks both ways.
I lost my sister a couple months ago. Joan was the oldest of us 6. My brother Alvin is now the oldest and he doesn't look so good.
Found out all three of my children have 180 degree opposite political opinions to me.
Wife and I are on the outs, probably permanent.
And tomorrow, I get my PSA tested. I'm on ADT vacation since March, so PSA will soon start rising.
We can't afford to get divorced, so I'm thinking about trying to live out of my Rav4. Not too promising.
Got to stop watching youtube vids of who has died in 2020. Effing depressing.
I think it was Bruce Willis in one of his movies that said: "I'm too old for this shiiiiite!"

Aleph, sorry you are dealing with so much. Tough times for all of us, but you’ve got more than your share for sure.
As far as the kids, just get ok with it. I’ve got friends and one family member with opposite views of me, but we’re still friends, and we are ok. Just don’t talk to them about politics.
So sorry about your sister, as we all know, because we’ve all been through loss and grieving, it’s hard, and takes time.
In a few months, the world will start to look different as far as Covid goes, I hope that makes everything else easier for you to deal with.
Hang in there is all I can say, and maybe make this your personal venting thread, you can vent here any time.

Whenever it's my own time to come to terms with life's offerings, especially when they seem to be edging toward the troubling side, I set up two columns in my mind: my good things column and my bad things column.

One thing that always goes into my good things column is the fact that I can be here and be a part of HWPC.

Because it's a good thing.

I hope you agree, and that it's a lift up to look at it that way..

We understand! The isolation, the political climate, the losses of 2020---it all stinks. And winter on the way! You are not alone even if you feel like you are.

I really do appreciate the words!!

Got my PSA results back half an hour ago.
I went on an ADT vacation back in March, PSA stayed steady until now.
But now, it's up as expected. It went from 0.16 to 0.49 in 3 months.
We'll probably hold off on Lupron for a bit, Doc might want to get some scans after it goes up a bit more.
Last time we waited until it got to 1.41.

On the bright side of things, I have some hard cider that I think I might turn it into Apple Jack this weekend.

Well, if that ain't bout one of the most common things in human experience. Children going the opposite path of parents. I even did myself, when I came a long as a bit of Mr. liberal hippie, though lo and behold the older I got it seemed like the smarter my elders suddenly became. Although, I was beginning my change in how I looked at things by about age 30 probably. But anyway, children viewing things 180 to their parents is a fairly common experience, seems to me anyway.

F8 -- Nah, never do I drink and drive! Camp and drink maybe but never ever drive.

BillyBob -- I know, but what's weird is that bc I'm a military brat, I never wandered far from more a conservative mind. We had the idea that all "Men" are created equal ingrained in us. The closest I ever came was for a couple years out of HS. But, I still had a sense of where I came from. I didn't really like the way things were around me, but about the time I got divorced from wife #1(25 at the time), I was pretty much back in my dad's mind.

Oh well, I'm digressing, hopefully the kids return to me, but even if they don't, I still love them very much!

Alephnull, of course you love your kids very much. I'm sure they feel exactly the same way. Once upon a time, it seems that we all could agree to disagree. People who didn't agree with our political stances were considered to have bad ideas...not be bad people. Even if your kids have what you consider to be bad ideas, I'll bet they're good people. Wishing you much love, acceptance and joy.
