how come hydroxychloroquine isn't on the list?
Good question, F8!
I would have loved to have that on the list, and would love to hear about
it in the comments. But first of all you can't take that on your own, it requires a doctor to decide that you need it, highly unlikely. And it has at least enough potential SEs that whether it helped or not, there was more risk to taking it than most supplements. After all, we heard, once a famous person raised the possibilities for that drug, that he was killing people by talking about
it. No one has yet said that about
recommended or even somewhat high doses of D, C or most other supplements. There have been between zero and very few significant SEs in any studies I have seen of these supplements.
I did say "And zinc? And things reputed to work like
hydroxychloroquine by getting zinc out of the blood and into the cells where the virus is, like Quercetin?". But the main reason I did not mention this prescript
ion drug or several other supplements in the actual poll is space. I only have so many choices I can offer in the poll. I am interested in quite a few supplements or dietary approaches that MIGHT help, at least a little.
But there is only so much room, and my primary curiosity is about D, C and zinc. Most of the questions are geared towards D, again due to lack of space, but in the OP I said: "But I am wondering: HWPC folks are extremely well informed about
such matters as CV-19 vs Vitamin D and C, zinc, etc. My hunch is that most of us here do at least one of these things .............
There are so many variables here that it is going to be impossible to get them all within the limited number of options in the poll. For ex: Have you been taking D? If so, how much? For how long? What about
C? How much? How long? And zinc? And things reputed to work like hydroxychloroquine by getting zinc out of the blood and into the cells where the virus is, like Quercetin? If all or some of the above, how did you do? Did you get it? If you got it, how bad and how long?
If bad sick, did you manage to end up in one of those critical care hospitals where they give methyprednisolone with IV vitamin C? If so, how did it go?
Lots of variables. So as always, fill in with details and opinions in comments...........".
I hope that explains it? I am assuming there that your question is serious, and not sarcasm, right? If so, thanks for asking, it probably needed explaining. If not, I guess I have been foolish even trying to answer.
