I talked with two ROs, specialized in SBRT and specialized in HDBT, before my surgery. Both indicated that, due to the prostate size, I would need to have ADT before or after radiation. LDBT is discarted for the same reason (not sure on more conventional external radiation). I thought it would be more convenient to have a treatment offering the initial intention to be the single one. Surgery has the advantage to eliminate the large prostate symptoms and the prostate size is not a problem for any skilled surgeon. And you will have a faster and more precise idea of your post treatment evolution. urinary incontinance can be an issue in some bad luck cases and ED is a bad surgery secondary effect too many times. Be sure to make the right research, not one according to your initial prefrences or fears. In any case, it is tought to decide and you will need some luck to make the right choice for your case.

I brought my biopsy slides personally to MD Anderson this morning. Very Helpful to me All at MD don’t know why Kelsey did not want a second opinion other than miss communication We will see .. If the same I decided at this time to do radiation and skip the hormones for now. From research I think I read that this can be done perhaps I read it wrong Any thoughts on this ?

Feedsack...I believe you’re in good hands at MD Anderson. I would spend as much time as possible consulting with their radiation oncologists with a focus on guided EBRT options. It’s probable that the size of your prostate is a bigger problem with seeds than IMRT and SBRT would be. I also would follow their advice regarding a short course of ADT. One of my gym buddies is on ADT following a failed surgery for PC and he says it’s no big deal compared to the effort of regaining his urinary function following the surgery.

I wrote a large thank you to all but for some reason it didnt post. I have decided that ebrt and hormone treatment for four months is what I want. I tried to engage family in decision making but understandably they have told me its my body do what is best for you in your mind. So I came to that conclusion. MD Anderson biopsy results were the same as what the other pathologist came to so that lends trust to me. I spoke to a urologist in the MD Anderson system and he expressed trust in my care at Kelsey. I have no reason to doubt him. I will continue to update you on my condition up to but not after a dirt nap.
