Corona vaccine OT

I got Moderna #1 on 1-2 and Moderna#2 on 1-30. I had very minor soreness around the injection site on both shots lasting 48-72 hours. On the #2 shot I also had a slight fever for about 90 minutes about 24 hours after injection. That was the extent of my side effects and now 17 days removed from #2 I feel fine.

My wife has had 2 Modernas. I have had one. No SE for either of us.

I am scheduled for Moderna jab number 2 on Thursday. I got a slightly sore arm for a few days after shot 1 but not a big deal. I am told that the second shot has more side effects -- fever, mild flu-like symptoms -- but they don't usually last very long.
Speculating: I have heard suggestions that people who have recovered from a prior COVID infection might only need one shot. This makes sense for more-or-less the same reason why the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines require two shots. The first shot (or a mild case of COVID) gives your immune system a look at bits of the virus so it can start developing an immune response and in response to the following shot your immune system says "Oh, there's that virus again. I know what to do about that!" and mounts a vigorous response that locks in the immunity. Seriologic (antibody) tests suggest that there are lots of people out there who caught the virus but had no symptoms and never knew they had it. Maybe those people react to the first shot with flu-like symptoms -- like most people have with the second shot.

Second shot last Saturday at noon. Started to feel weird later in the evening. Woke up at 3AM feeling achy, feverish, didnt have fever. Woke up the next morning,with 99, i am usually 97 in the morning. Felt just generally crappy most of the next day. But by Monday i was fine.

Wife second shot, same as me, but add bad chills most of the day after.

My son, age 40, had his second shot last Wedensday. He was really bad for 2 1/2 days. Chills, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, dry heaves. A real mess. But he is fine now. I have read that younger people, because of their stronger immune system, will tend to have more side effects, generally speaking.

you guys should say which vaccine your received. in general moderna has more side effects but i know people who have gotten ill from pfizer

Good point, although i think its random. I had Moderna

my FIL said the second moderna shot was "quite a bit worse" than the first shot which gave him a "slight fever" that was gone the next morning. he said he would tell me more later lol

I wish people would quote valid studies to compare side effect from the different vaccines. What I see in this thread is just anecdotal.

They had 43,000 people in the trial, now there are 39+ million of first dose vaccinated in US. I did Vsafe like Djin so at least two people reported side effect results.

I got my 2nd Moderna shot, with zero side effects.

After 2nd shot, wife had minor aches and slight headache the next day, for about 8 hours.

All in all....NBD.

2nd Pfizer vaccine shot yesterday morning, 2/18. Just a sore arm for wife and I this morning. Wife felt a little odd last night but was ok in morning. I was a bit restless sleeping but fine this morning. Hope it holds steady...

I am now 15 days removed from Moderna #2......I feel fine.......very minor soreness in upper arms for a few days on both and ran a slight fever for about 90 minutes after #2.

Moderna #2 for the bride and me tomorrow.

My wife and I have had both our Phizer vaccinations w/o any significant side effects except maybe arm a little sore the next day.
