Hello all, its been a while since I posted. Almost 59 years old now. I didn't want to do a victory lap and then get sidelined. So good news, PSA <.008 - 5 years in May, erections ok with a pill, urine control all good (both new normals). Very lucky guy and best result you can ask for.

Then there's the "But".

I had some blood from my urethra at the end of a BM about 5 times over the last 2 years. Usually after strenuous work in the yard. Last time was September when I moved a big cabinet by myself. Then again on Feb 2,3,4 without any activity. I mentioned this to my URO last visit. Because I am a long time smoker (quit Jan 24th - 17 days!!) he wanted to do an ultrasound and scheduled a cystoscopy on Feb 24th. GP called today. Ultrasound shows fatty liver, 1 cm lesion in pancreas, 2 cysts in kidney left side and angiomyolipoma on right side. Has ordered CT of pancreas and kidneys as well as blood work. Also ordered a colonoscopy as I am over due.

So, time will tell. I am one who avoids this medical stuff and hate the prodding and poking. I also spend too much time researching when it is in front of me. I am hoping the lube, oil and filter is just maintenance and I don't need any major body or engine work.

Glad you are following up, and hope the scans will show nothing of true concern.

I had repeated scans the past few years, for a possible trouble spot.

For the latest scan, this past fall, they finally determined that it no longer warranted further concern.

That's interesting. For the last 30+ years scans have always shown a hemangioma (unchanging) on my liver and fatty liver. Never any symptoms, normal enzymes. Is that your situation RE: symptoms/enzymes

Hi all,

Not sure if I should ask this on a new thread but here is the update and my question. Went for the Cystoscopy and was not successful as I have a stricture. I am scheduled for surgery March 17th to correct and then he can look at the bladder the same time. My catheter friend will be back...ugh.

Question: Can it be the stricture itself that can be causing the bleeding?

Got the results of my CT and I do not have pancreatic cancer, it was clean. No real concerns with kidneys either and no follow up required. Thank goodness and a big relief.

Yes, it can. Lots of other stuff could cause bleeding too. Cystoscopy's the way to find out.

Really good news on not having pancreatic cancer, as that is a bad one...

Hoping the bleeding now can be pinned down to just something mechanical or minor. Then you can be back in business and flying high!

Good to hear about the updates.

If you were a long term or current smoker, see if you can get enrolled in the Low Dose CT Lung Scan program to catch anything early.

I'm in my second year, it takes all of 3 minutes to do. They did find some small liver cysts in 2020 and my doc did some specialized cancer marker blood tests - no concern. 2021's test showed same ones which radiology termed no changes found.

Hi all,

Thought would post an update. Stricture surgery competed last Wednesday. Due to the URO's office being closed Friday I had to have the catheter until today. Hoping that is my absolute last time I need any extra equipment.

He was able to fix the stricture and complete the cystoscopy. He says bladder is fine and expects blood was from stricture when straining. I looked at my chart in recovery - I was on the table for a total of 9 minutes!! He is very skilled so I am lucky.

He says I may have some dribbling until things heal up but so far so good. Forgot to ask about when I can have some bedroom action. Probably wait a couple of weeks - Easter present maybe?

I am finishing up my antibiotics today. Happy hour starts Thursday at 4 pm. .......on me!
