Thought it might be fun to take a snapshot of where we are re getting vaccinated -- like we did a few weeks back. I'm now as fully immune as I can be having had my second Moderna shot a month ago. Now I'm pretty much getting back to normal life.

We shall see how it goes. Our MN governor is doing a major rollback of rules effective Monday and they expect 10,000 fans for the Twins home opener in April. This is almost a full scale test of MN’s current vaccination and immunity status compared to the last year of restrictions.
The ultimate stress test will be when they allow the MN State Fair to open in August where 2 million people get together for 12 days in an environment that resembles a Tokyo subway station crowd at rush hour.

I finally managed to book an appointment at a hospital system a few towns over from home. I am not an active patient there, but have been in the past. Very well organized. In and out within 20 minutes for first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
Second dose scheduled for April 1st. Hope not to be the April fool! My wife is fully vaccinated, so I am the last one, through no choice of my own.
Vaccine access in the Chicago area has been a total disaster. We now have House of Representatives filing lawsuits over the inequities. I guess I'll make some popcorn and watch.

Received 2nd Pfizer shot on Feb 10th. Waited three weeks before I stopped wiping down my groceries. We've done home grocery delivery for a year now. We've had no reactions to either vaccination.
Members of our family have had 24 hour flu-like symptoms following J&J shot. One other member has recurrent dizziness for five days now following first Pfizer shot. We all have Type O blood, so there doesn't seem to be a causal relationship there.

My oncologist's words were prophetic, a few months ago:
"The fact that you are an educator will open the door to you getting the vaccine, way before we will get vaccines for our oncology patients."
Sure enough ---- they recently hosted a vaccine event for educators at a nearby university campus --- 1,000 of us educators vaccinated with the PFIZER vaccine on a Saturday ---- it ran like clockwork.
Small world --- a former student of mine, from years ago, is now a nurse --- and she's the one who vaccinated me. Quite meaningful, actually ...
I am thankful to hear about every single person who finally gets a vaccine appointment. If you're still waiting, that door IS going to open for you soon ...
I have battled cancer ... I don't wish to battle corona, when there's an antidote now available.
Getting both doses of the vaccine brought me more peace of mind than I even anticipated ...
My best to each --- and all ---

Cheryl and I got our 1st shot (pfizer) a few weeks ago. Cheryl gets her 2nd on Wedne and I get mine a few days later.
We should be able to loosen up shortly after the 1st, but we still plan to do the mask/distance/hand washing.
Looking forward to re-entering the world.

Still waiting here in California as a 60-year-old. Currently, they're vaccinating age 65+ and essential workers/teachers. On Monday, they're opening it up <65 with high-risk health conditions. On that list is "cancer, current with weakened immune system." I could probably game that criteria with my doc, but honestly, that description doesn't cover me.
There are 4.4 million people in the tier that's rolling out on Monday, so not sure when they'll open it up to everyone--I know some states are doing that. I'm hoping that I get called up in the first half of April.

Mrs Pratoman and I got our second Moderna shot on February 6th. Slowly, our lives have returned to a reasonable facsimile of normal, although not quite what it was. No airplanes, movies or other major indoor activires. But we've done a few restaurant dinners outdoors, here in Florida thats easy. And we've gotten together with friends who have been vaccinated, mostly one couple at a time. Also been going to our community pool, where they require a reservation, with limits of 35 people at a time and a 1 1/2 hour time slot after which we need to leave to let the next group in.
So no complaints.
We've still been wiping down our groceries when we shop, but i think that should probably end, seemts like overkill now.
We are driving home to NY mid April, and i am guessing back in NY we will be a bit more restricted, for a while, at least until the warm weather arrives and outdoor dining opporutnities are plentiful
My son has been vaccinated, as a teacher, and my son in law just got his first shot due to obesity, which is funny because he is not obese, or even fat, its based on BMI which is a BS measure, he was one pound over the limit. Now if i could get my daughter vaccinated id breathe a partial sigh of relief. That would leave my almost 2 year old grandson, who is obviously a long way from vaccination

I live in a Continuing Care Community (AKA retirement home) in Maryland. The management was able to get vaccines for all (about 1000 residents and 500 associates). The drive was well organized and, as Cyclone wrote so elegantly,
Peace of Mind
Our Governor (Hogan) is eager to relax various covid-19 related rules (for political reasons, some say), but the County where I live has kept many of the restrictions in place. For instance, restaurants still at 25%. Public schools still closed.

We are snowbirds in Florida who met the state residency requirements and have received both Moderna shots. Waiting until March 19 for full immunity, but will still be careful. Hoping for Easter with the family--it's been a long time coming.
This week the local health department will send a team to our RV "resort" (using the term loosely) and vaccinate anyone over 60 who wants it but hasn't been able to find an appointment. Great idea to come into communities!

Our local health department is also signing up people in our community in a week. Our HOA staff is helping folks who have not been able to get previously vaccinated...who seem to mostly be older (80+) with poor computer skills. We have posters up for those who don't get emails about
this and we are encouraging everyone to look out for their neighbors and let people know this is available.

But with better deep-fried soup!
My wife and I are currently 2.5 weeks out from Moderna #2, which means we're fully protected against the virus strain soon to be overwhelmed by the new variants. She had a coupla days of malaise, I had a sore arm. No changes to our daily routines.

We have both gotten both doses, one of us Pfizer, the other Moderna. This has affected us in good ways. I visited with my 95-year-old mom, who has been fully vaccinated, in person for the first time in a year. We are scheduled to visit our grands, ages 3 and 5, in person for the first time in a year. Our daughter (a physician) and son-in-law have gotten the vaccine. This is what is most important to me, no matter what other things I still can't do. I plan to continue to mask indoors in public, social distance where vaccination status is unknown (so I don't unknowingly carry the virus to someone who is unvaccinated), and wipe down groceries. It's been a long journey and hopefully we are better prepared for the next pandemic, when it arrives.

Still tough to schedule here, but several of our doctors have suggested waiting for the J&J. So, that is what we are doing.

I got the first shot of the Pfizer vaccine a couple days ago (March 11).
On the 23rd of Feb. Indiana lowered the age to 60 yrs and up (I'm 62). Going thru the various schedulers it looked like I would've been able to get the shot even earlier than I did (like around Feb. 24 or 25), but I've spent most of the winter in Iowa caring for my 93 year old Mother so I needed to wait until I was able to be back in Indiana to get it.
I have an appointment setup to get the second shot on April 14. That's about two weeks after the three week / 21 day interval they usually have for the Pfizer shot but they didn't think it would be a problem. I wanted to delay it until then because I was going to be back in Indiana for some other appointments that week.

VA took care of me, Moderna Jan 25 & Feb 23. My wife was able to get her vaccine through a county health department 60 miles away, Pfizer Feb 10 and Mar 3.
Yesterday, we went to a local, craft brewery and had an early St Patrick's day beer. First time we spent time in a restaurant in a year.

My wife and I received 1st dose of Pfizer on 3/18/21. GA dropped the age to 55+ so she qualified without needing to meet other medical criteria.

Well, I was allowed to sign up a week ago. Got a message today saying I would be contacted within two weeks for my "appointment information." Lol. Inching closer to Moderna.

Still waiting in California...need to be over 65, an essential worker or have a high-risk condition. While cancer is on the high-risk list, I would really have to fudge my situation to fit the criteria.

Second shot completed March 10th. Still wearing mask when out and about. However, started dining inside the restaurants for a change.

Had to drive 100 miles each way to get mine through a different Healthcare system then we use, my Hematologist thankfully put all his patients on the list. Got my second shot last Wednesday, and then on Friday got an e-mail from CDC that I could now sign up for an appointment for my first shot!
