After being blown away watching the film of Derek DelGaudio's performance "In and of Itself" on Hulu, I had to read his autobiography "Amoralman". He's basically one of the world's best sleight of hand artists, who discovers that there's more to magic than just tricks.
That led me to reading "Blood Aces", about the life of Benny Binion, the illegal gambling boss who was run out of Texas in the 50s and went on to Vegas, going legit with Binion's Horseshoe and eventually coming up with the idea for the World Series of Poker. He left lots of people underground along the way.
Now I'm reading "Titanic Thompson" by Kevin Cook, a biography about a grade school dropout who became the country's foremost hustler, mostly golf, in the early 1900's. Using wits, creativity and natural athleticism, he became the epitome of the self made man.
