Are you considering treatment at all?

Diagnosed in 2013, I joined this website in 2014.

Your post will give hope to new readers ---- your treatments have paid dividends for well beyond a decade ---- and when you're first diagnosed, HOPE is the lifeline that you need.

You're cruising through 15 years of "living life to the fullest" --- beyond treatments ---- and that's powerful for others to hear. That's a lot of extra candles on the birthday cake, since your original diagnosis.

I am forging ahead through my eighth year of survivorship.

I have taught school for over 30 years, and another group of high school seniors are turning in their last assignments this week --- and graduating this weekend.

These seniors were in my elementary classroom the year I was diagnosed --- and now they are graduating!

In a unique twist ---- due to the pandemic --- I became the online teacher for all the online seniors this year ---- the very same students who had once been my former elementary students when I was first diagnosed.

Meaningful, beyond words! They graduate this weekend!

Hey 56pontiac. I too, came here in 2006. I remember you well. Happy to see that so many of us are doing well. I’m one of those.

Wow Pontiac, sounds like you and I are on the same journey. I'm 73, had DaVinci at City of Hope in 2005. Gleason 3+4, PSA = 4. Easy surgery, a positive margin. PSA was <0.1 thru June '11=0.06 (first ultra-sensitive test). Then started to creep: '12=0.11, '13=0.10, '14=0.15, '15=0.19, '16=0.26, '17=0.31, '18=0.41, '19=0.51, '20=0.55, Feb '21=0.57. Doubling time around 3 years. Amazing how close our numbers are. Had MRI and PET scan a couple years ago, both negative. Consultation between my uro and rad doc (strong input from me) came to agreement to continue PSA test every 6 months and watch for any spikes. So far no further treatment. Health is great, everything functions. Nice to see someone else following the same path. Good luck to you!!
