Newbies...take note...this thread shows one thing...most folks who are or have been on this site...live a long time with this appropriately labeled dis ease...and yes it is a purgatory for some...an indulgence for others...but for the most part if one is really living with it and not making it their identity or raison de etre...it really does not matter if you live or die with it...fly with the Byrds or die with the flies...just don't be a piggy...and regurgitate life...."Believe it or Not"...as for me...Logos

Did you know that Martin Luther who railed for most of his life against church indulgences actually died from his self indulgences of diet and sloth...there is certainly a poetic justice self written there...Beware...the...Dwarf....tee hee

Nice to hear from Ziggy on this thread as well. Glad you are still good. Re the knee, my wife has received two new ones in the past 5 years and is doing great. She is faster than ever on the tennis court!

BTW, there was a member here a few weeks back with questions about TFT. I sent him to you; I trust you are still happy with that choice.

Thanks for the update... Sorry to hear about the Parkinson's... Terrible disease to try to live with.
I have been here since March 2007 and have always followed your posts.

Sorry to hear about your Parkinson’s.

Paul is doing well, PSA still <0.1. Post here much less than I used to but still check in to read once a fortnight or so.

Hi David, glad to hear from you, I am still around too, it has been nearly 14 years since I had my diagnosis and RP, I have had on and off Casodex and Hormone therapy every couple of years, which seems to hold my Pca at bay, last PSA was 0.23 which is great, in the meantime my Thyroid decided to play up and cause palpitations and irregular heartbeat, which hospitalised me for 3 days, now on Thyroid tablets, in the meantime, I had a total hip replacement of my left hip, and I am now 80, I wish you well old friend.

Sorry to hear about the darned Parkinson, and all the other stuff you have had to deal with. darned PC and Agent Orange and misplaced Radiation, darn it to all disease.

Hi David/Purgatory. Thank you for the update. I remember you from when I got here back in 2014 or so, and have kept up with your posts in the interim. I just read your post to my wife, just as I sometimes did over the last 6 or 7 years. Yours is one heck of a story. God bless you, David!

I am still around as well. I rarely post anymore but check in with folks from time to time. Some of the others are not fairing as well. Sad. I celebrated 15 years with the beast so far. I still have another 16 to go to fulfill my marriage promise. Sorry about all the crap you must go through. It sucks. As always I send positive thoughts your way. Todd

It's been over a year since I've logged on, glad to see you're still kicking. I'm still doing good, the beast hasn't reared it's head again since surgery, and I wish all the best for you and all the oldtimers that are out there.

Thanks for updating, people don't realize how far their post go..... there are few people that can relate to things we are going thru even tho many genuinely try. Often just getting the words out there is therapeutic, for me at least.

David, my heart aches for you for all of the medical problems you have endured. I ask Padre Pio to give you strength and comfort, you are a tough old bird . Good lord has given me 13 years since G9 & surgery and 8 years on Zytiga with undetectable PSA as I approach 80. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you. The Old Sailor.

I am still here. Although I do not come here often.
I only come after my annual physical each year with my PSA test results.
I always look for updates from my old friend Purgatory.

I remember the time when my every thought was about the prostate cancer, the treatment choices, the surgery, the urinary incontinence (fortunately very short lived for me) and the concern over erections (that too was short lived for me). This forum and the very tenured members and the moderators helped me immensely. I will never forget it or them.
You David, were one of those whose opinion I sought out. You gave me very wise advice. Thank you.
I regret that your struggles are not improving. I do wish you the very best.

As I said, I do not come here often these days but I often think of this forum and the good work that is done here.

For those just starting their prostate cancer journey, this forum has helped thousands before you. It can help you too.

David, I'm still around, you were the first to respond to my post when I first diagnosed with PC back in 2009. I had a prostatectomy in 2009, has undetectable PSA for 7 years followed by slow increase in PSA until it reached 0.12 in June of 2021. I had IMRT to the prostate bed and adjacent lymph nodes. completed in August 2021. My PSA in 12/21 was 0.13 indicating a failed radiation. I'm scheduled for another PSA test next week to see which way the PSA is moving and how fast. I was wondering how well you are doing. I'm glad you are still with us. Hang in there.
