Blood in urine (hematuria) 1 year 9 month post finishing RT

Hi guys.
I completeled salvage RT + ADT almost 2 yrs ago and good news that PSA is undertectable and I feel ok overall, but 1 week ago out of the blue I noticed bloody urine (only for one day).

My pcp gave me empirical treatment with abx which I completed. Urine looks ok now and I had UA done yesterday and today have the results back - i have 74 erythrocytes in UA, which is abnormal. Leucocytes are wnl

Suspect radiation cystitis.

Finished my SRT in August 2019. Had 66 Gy at 33 fractions (VMAT Rapid Arc) + ADT ( 6 month)

I had US kidneys and bladder 6 month ago and it was wnl, so it's unlikely stone .
Will see what urologist will say.
Wonder if anyone had similar problem and what was the outcome.
Will likely need cystoscopy ....

Mos, i have not had that problem, but i do recall that in my last meeting with my RO, at the very end of SRT, he told me that in 2 years or so, i might find some blood in my urine. He added, if it does happen, its likely from the radiation and nothing serious, but to let him know if it happens (and i assume they would investigate to be sure, with a Cytoscopy.

I did have blood in urine and stricture after HDRBT and IMRT. My treatments ended in October of 2017. Last blood in urine was January of this year, was able to have Cystoscopy which showed those tiny blood vessels in my prostate, I think they were somehow bursted? Not sure what term to use? I had blood in urine for about seven days before it stopped.
The first episode was about a year after the treatments and that was when I found out that I also had/have stricture.

It only takes a little bit of blood to color urine alarmingly.

That happened to me right on schedule, about 2 years after my primary radiation was done. Two incidents, about a week apart. This precipitated the whole urinary evaluation, with a CT urogram and a cystoscopy. And that stuff turned up a pretty big kidney cyst, which led to 5 years of follow up, ultimately concluded to be stable and benign. about half of adults over 50 have them, usually found incidental to looking for something else.

My urinalysis ever since now says there are blood cells in it, though not visible. It's likely just very minor capillary leakage.

The capillaries in the area treated by radiation become a bit brittle ("friable" they say). So yeah, blood in urine is a pretty common "complication", needing to be evaluated, but not very likely to be a big problem.

Yep. Had that about 18-24 mos after SRT. Spoke with Tall Allen (a knowledgeable poster on HW at the time). He said 99% radiation-related and will most likely go away. It did. That was about 7 years ago. It happened again last month, again about 20 mos after SBRT. It went away. I have not followed up (yep, taking a chance -- you decide what you want to do).
