Latest PSA check, still undetectable!

In the midst of so much troubling news, I'd like to report a little good news. I just had my 6-month PSA check, and it is still undetectable (<0.03 ng/dL)! So, 2-1/2 years after my suspected recurrence and restarting ADT, my PSA was and remains well suppressed.

The G9 cases are unpredictable, and merit every aggressive measure possible. I am blessed that the initial IGRT + ADT2 treatment was pretty successful, and that ongoing ADT is effective. No way to tell how long this will hold a durable remission, but every day is a gift.

There is always hope. Some do well, some not so well, but we never know what our specific case may do. We do what we can, preparing for the worst, but expecting the best.

Every day we're here is a gift. Live every day. Be bold. Be courageous. Don't hide away in a vain search for "safety", that's not what life is about! A ship in harbor is safe, but that's not what ships are built for.

In addition to PCa, I've had a malignant melanoma, and now apparently "non-critical severe heart disease", with extensive coronary atherosclerosis (likely hereditary). And you know what? It doesn't matter. We live large, traveling, caring for our grandson, kayaking, bicycling, on a condo board, ham radio club treasurer, multiple men's groups, bible studies, cancer support groups, and on, and on. I'm doing what I can to mitigate medical risks, but NOT letting it hamper enjoying this glorious blessing of life every day!

All the best, my fellow warriors. Keep up the good fight. One day they'll carry us out on our shield, but it won't be for a lack of effort!

Heh, well, thanks for asking! A couple of things combined for that. I like the Detroit Redwings, and I have a red Honda Gold Wing motorcycle (a red 'Wing'). My mom's favorite bird was the cardinal, which has red wings. The 57 is my birth year.

I've used that on other forums, geocaching, a variety of places!

Jerry, congratulations on your recent good news. Your description of life activities is more than impressive. None of us are guaranteed a certain number of days. Each day is a gift and you are being a great steward of the days that have been entrusted to your responsibility. That responsibly is not contingent upon our PSA reading but upon the gratefulness and appreciation of the gift of life we have been given. You have brought joy to my day for the example of the way you are running this race. You are still very much a runner! When you finish, I am sure there will be an unbelievable celebration and a thunderous “Well done”.
