I just got approved for Orgovyx on the 20th of Nov. I already had the initial Firmagon injections with only itching at the injection site with some day and night sweats. They are bothersome at night. I was wondering what to expect on Orgovyx and how to counter the night sweats if that is an SE. My Uro has a pharmacy rep in house and I will be getting my prescriptions filled there. I have United Health care from Arizona State Retirement. The cost will be $40 a month which seems like a huge discount from what I can see online. Thanks bunch to all.

I've been on it since May 2021.
Much better than having to get a shot every 3 months.
I had been on Lupron for over 7 years the hot flashes and what not had largely disappeared.
But the hot flushes are certainly back with Orgovyx.
Mine is free(haha, nothing is free, my total insurance is about $5400 a year), BC/BS of Kansas covers 100% of all oral cancer drug costs.

Jack, if you type orgovyx in the search block here on HW you can get an idea of who is on it and the possible se's. Most people that are on it express positive thoughts about the new drug.

I have been on Orgovyx for 5 months 10 days (I have 20 days left on my 6-month sentence). I have been fortunate to have few severe side effects. ED, and loss of libido mostly, also some issues with insomnia, muscle cramps, forgetfulness, and moodiness/mild depression. I have had no night sweats, hot flashes, or weight gain - in fact lost 15 pounds while on Orgovyx.

Duh, thanks a bunch all, I never noticed the search block in the upper left. What a wealth of information to be gained about any topic. I see by the replies that the SE’s while on Orgovyx is different for some, but seem to be less than those on the monthly shots. As long as any drug or procedure does the job and keeps the cancer at bay, hopefully the SE’s can be tolerated.

Been on orgovyx for around 5 months after Lupron vacation of several months. Side effects may be slightly less —certainly not more than the 3-month Lupron shots I got for several years. Still fatigue and occasional night sweats—though that’s mostly happening because of no testosterone. Good luck with the treatment.
