Signature updated with this week's PSA...

Slow rise; unfortunately with the change last year with LabCorp's reporting, wasn't really able to see if I was getting small increases all along.

July 2021 0.009 - Dr wanted to have follow up 3 month to retest

Oct 2021 KIDNEY STONE took a month to pass - Uro is having the stone analyzed

Nov 2021 0.014 - Dr wants follow up in 3 months to retest

As with other guys here, the upward swing is tiny but heading in the wrong direction. We'll see how it goes.

Anytime PSA is increasing after RP/RT it's concerning, but you're still low, low, low. I don't think the ultra-sensitive PSA tests are doing you any favors at this point in your treatment. I think you just have to wait for more PSA results before drawing any real conclusions.

I would agree with mattam, you need at least another, probably two or three, to draw any conclusions. But with a Decipher score of .7, and positive for EPE, vigilance is appropriate. With that said, and I'm no expert, i would think Drs will want to wait until and if PSA goes high enough to give you a good chance that the source would be detectable on a PSMA Scan. So i would guess at worst, no treatment on the near horizon, and hopefully you find out this was just a blip.

GG - I decided to not do any ultra sensitive testing after deciding to have ART for exactly what you are experiencing. I did not want to worry about stuff I could do nothing about much less micro changes with very small numbers. mattam pretty much said that and I agree.

PCa can be a pesky beast... Simiar DX at 59... You are a ways from action levels yet... Try to put the worry/anxiety on the back burner and live life as you want to... I have had complications along the way, but am 14 year out and don't worry about the hiccups... The treatment technology just keeps getting better and better... smile

Adverse path myself. 6 years, many orgasms and no pee problems. This one is mine. And I harbor no regret. I kept at this for a while. Studying. Gathering information. Trying to “distill” a number from all of the different sources….And the guestimate I made some 5 yrs ago for my own case was…if it’s going to recur, it’ll probably be somewhere around the 7 year mark. Right now, I’m starting to go above the curve. 50% of the people with my path have had a recurrence. (By my own calculations…for whatever it’s worth…which may not be much). I give it a 1 in 3 chance of it never coming back.

During a pre-surgery consult at John’s Hopkins Hospital, I asked the surgeon, “What, in your opinion, will happen in my case if I just go home and never do anything about this again?” He answered, “This surgery won’t begin to pay dividends until 10-15 years from now”.

If your prostate cancer got out before your surgery, it didn’t by much.

GG you're getting some great advice here. @Island Time: since this is one possible future for me and perhaps a bunch of us, can you spell out "He answered, “This surgery won’t begin to pay dividends until 10-15 years from now”."? Sorry to be stupid but I don't understand. Because you asked a GREAT question: can I ignore this now, even if it hasn't "gone away"?
